Maverick Hotel and Casino by Red Lion Hotels - Hotel in Elko - 2065 Idaho St, USA

My husband and I stopped in Elko on our way back home to Idaho. We were met @ reception by an extremely kind lady, Charmaine whom exceeded the standard for customer service! We liked the atmosphere of the casino and got a player’s card and met another helpful customer service representative named Morgan who walked us through nicely. The most incredible part of our stay was the comfort of our pet friendly room. The carpets were super clean as was the entire room. The level of comfort of the bedding and pillows was 10/10. I suffer from severe back issues and I slept @ this place better than I’ve slept in months! We will be back! Thank you so much!

We booked a room at the Maverick hotel and casino for one night. I have to say we expected |Better accommodations for the price we paid. The gal at the checkin desk was very helpful.| Unfortunately she told us the pool was closed. The sign said from Winter conditions. People!!! It’s July and seriously, how bad does your winter weather get in Elko NV??? We’re from Wisconsin, we know winter! Then we were told the restaurant was closed. On a Wednesday? Once again!… seriously?! Then our room…. Oh, well. There’s stuff on the lamp shade I’m sure doesn’t belong there.|Don’t make me go back there! Ever!

Overnight stop to split a long drive. Easy to find, good for a night stay. The bathroom was not very clean as there was hair on the floor, and it looked/felt dingy. Glad we were in and out, and didn't have to spend too much time here. I did get a good night's rest, the bed was comfy.

Beware of this casino and it's kin across the street. Zero customer service. Though they appear to have alot going on, they lack the staff and existing staff to make you want to stay. We stopped in the afternoon but the vibe is 'don't bother me'. And I love casinos. I did not want to stay although my friend did. So I observed. Maybe the staff is nicer at night.

I'm being generous here as I won't spend another dime here. Rooms are dated but clean, casino is decent, but the service is terrible. I simply bought three drinks from the vending machine that is in the hotel by the rooms, and it only dispensed two and the third got lodged. I was told the only solution is to dispute the charge with my bank. So I went to do that and saw I was charge $6.70 three times for $3 drinks. I again was told to dispute it or talk to Coca Cola. The security guy, who was asked to assist since maintenance wasnt around, was very rude and dismissive. It's not the money, it's the way it was handled. I won't dispute the charge, I just won't spend any more with this place. The simplest solution if they couldn't resolve it (evening staff) would pass it on to a manger to resolve it more efficiently and effectively. If management sees this I will say that the people at check in when I came in, and the rewards desk were both very nice though.

We stayed at the hotel, we ate at the hotel and a little bit of gambling on our way back home. The room was fine, the air conditioner didn't work too well it kept the room slightly cool 71°. The sliding glass window was filthy. Door on cabinet was falling off.|Shower was dated and shower head sprayer needs CLR.||The food was subpar they have a steakhouse that have a overpriced $76 a dollar steak so we didn't eat there, We 3 sat down in the regular Cafe, it took them over an hour to get served. When they did it was really low quality food and for $70 it was a joke. We have problems with the food taking extremely long , it came out in correctly, French dip...It was cold and lacked flavor . My husband's fish and chips was overcooked . The new girl was doing all the work and there's no good trainer alongside her to help, she just kept apologizing.||Checking at the front desk went smooth for the most part but our rooms were clear at the other end of the hotel and it's one hell of a walk from one end of the hotel to the casino/ restaurant. I booked more than 8 months ago.||12:00 a.m. in the morning, called the front desk ask them to please reach my husband he's sitting on the 21 table , they said no they wouldn't do that. Ask them if that is a house rule they said no they just don't do it. Mind you it's 12:00 a.m. in the morning I need to reach my husband his phone is off and you can't do a courtesy call or walk over to the table and handi| Him the phone?||Won't be back.

This hotel was billed as “the nicest hotel in Elko”. I stayed for a work conference and paid $259 per night. Here are my major takeaways: 1. I was shocked upon arrival at the oppressive smell of cigarette smoke in the registration area. I requested a non-smoking room, but the smell of smoke just permeated the building and you could smell it everywhere. When I woke up the first morning my eyes were even itchy and red from the smoke. 2. The hotel has not been updated for a very long time. The furnishings are very old and cheap and is reminiscent of a 1970s Las Vegas movie. Also, I could not believe how many things were broken or out of service. The pool was closed (in mid July) due to damage from the previous winter. Several sets of doors were marked off, and many signs were broken. Also, there were portable WiFi hotspots glued to the hallway walls and the internet connectivity was nonexistent. It took me nearly 10 minutes to add an attachment to send an email from my laptop. 3. The hotel fitness center was great…as far as hotel gymnastics go. They had a good selection of weights and machines, and had cold water and towels available and a television. 4. The actual guest room was nice. While the furniture was outdated, the bed was very comfortable. It was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I have slept on. There was a good sized desk and dresser, two chairs and a table, and a large television. 5. The water pressure in the shower deserves its own post. It was phenomenal. Usually I have a hard time even washing my shampoo out due to paltry water pressure, but this shower felt like a fire hose. I suppose it is one benefit of the lack of remodeling, the faucet doesn’t have a water saver regulator. 6. The gift shop was closed during my entire stay. I had forgotten toothpaste and wanted to grab a small souvenir for my kids. I went down three separate times over two days and it was closed every time. There were no posted hours and no staff nearby to offer assistance. Overall, the hotel is not a bad option for accommodations, but the smell of smoke may be a deal breaker.

Hallway and rooms had a funky, smoke smell despite the room being non-smoking. AC was out for the whole hotel, but we weren't informed of that when we checked in. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but with daily temperatures above 100 degrees, and the room being unable to be cooled, we checked out a few hours after checking in. Thankfully, they refunded our stay.
