Mauri's Family Restaurant - Family restaurant in Mundelein - 510 E Hawley St, USA

Visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago per my friend’s suggestion. The food was excellent and the menu has good variety. The server offered great customer service and suggestions on the menu. I ordered with hesitation corn beef hash since it’s hard to find them crispy and not greasy. They were perfect!!!! Thank you Mauri’s restaurant. Be ready to wait if you have a large group. I was seated immediately since there were just 2 of us. But I observed large groups of people. It’s worth the wait though.😀

I would not recommend this place, I ordered breakfast for carry out, my steak was overcooked, dry and tough. It also did not taste fresh. Also the sausage and bacon are low quality. If you’re used to eating good quality food that’s carefully prepared, you’ll dislike this food as much as I did. Do not waste your money, I got a full refund.

Legit. It's a nice little diner. Friendly staff. Amazing food. The chorizo with the chilaquiles was super flavorful. The biscuits and gravy were savory and creamy. Good coffee too. Be aware they prefer cash. But they do take card.

Ok, the food was mediocre 😕, had to ask for a refill of coffee despite being fully staffed and not being full. I believe I counted about 7 workers that were there. The kid setting tables should also be checking tables for coffee. If you can comfortably fit in a booth, good luck. My bill was $29.80 she charged me $39.80.

A great family owned breakfast-lunch joint. I’ve heard great things about this establishment prior to coming here and had high expectations coming in. With the COVID restrictions I feel like I can’t properly review this place yet but from my experience there it was nothing short of great. One of the neat things coming in is that they have a wait room for guests that are waiting to be seated as the restaurant is fairly popular. After being seated the food was delicious and they offer a quite extensive menu selection. Service was kind and welcoming, constantly checking on us if we were ok or needed a refill on our drinks. The overall setting was very neat and clean. I loved the mural they had in the back wall, didn’t get a chance to snap a picture of it but it is a cool piece to add to a local hotspot. Definitely would comeback to this place to try more of the menu.

They do have good food and fast service if you go early or during the week. But you still have to get past the cashier. We had to make an emergency exit one time because a large party came in and one was wearing a choking cloud of cologne. We are old and we look it and always order from the senior menu. We didn't realize there was a mistake between the regular vs the senior menu until we got to the cashier - I couldn't understand why the bill was so high that day. All the cashier had to say was that they brought me a big omelette. Last weekend the same cashier was ringing us up and said there's a 4% upcharge for credit cards, if that's ok. I said no and got cash out of my wallet. I reminded her that during the pandemic they insisted that cash is dangerous and encouraged us to use plastic and now they want us to pay those fees? She did not care.

Mauri's is a delightful local family restaurant. The staff exudes friendliness and positive energy. The food is promptly served and exceptionally delicious. The restaurant, along with its bathrooms, is impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing. The restaurant looked nice was very clean. The service was outstanding. The food was amazing as well. We had breakfast items and coffee. I don't remember exactly what they were called but they were absolutely delicious. It was some sort of Mexican scramble. I added some gravy. It was served with some tortillas. You have to go here.
