Mattie's Foods is hands down the BEST in Kansas City! Since finding out my daughter has Alpha Gal Syndrome she has been severely restricted on what and where she can eat. Mattie's is a 100% vegan restaurant. No risk of exposure to mammalian meat or meat byproducts, cross contamination, or fumes from cooking meat. And ya'll!! This food was out of this world!!! Mattie's crew is the sweetest, too! They could tell how worried my daughter was to get sick and told her how what was in all the food and reassured her that she was in good hands. We will definitely be going back on our next trip to KC!

WOULD I RECOMMEND: Yes WOULD I RETURN: Yes Amount spent: $22 This was my first visit to Mattie’s Foods and the nachos with jackfruit were sooo delicious! This was also my 1st trying jackfruit and I was very impressed with the taste. Everything was so flavorful, even the chips were seasoned! Since it’s a smaller dining area, it was somewhat loud when there was a larger party sitting at the largest table. It was somewhat difficult to hear the person talking to me, but other than that, it was a pleasant experience.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best meal I’ve had out in my entire life. My boyfriend and I are on a short weekend trip to KC and I found this place on google near our Airbnb and decided to give it a try for brunch. The menu offered an impressive variety of plant-based options, making it difficult to choose just one dish. My boyfriend (non-vegan) and I (vegan) decided to split the biscuits and gravy & banana foster pancakes. Upon receiving my meal, I was blown away by the flavors. The food was so well seasoned and delicious. Not only was the food outstanding, but the staff were all sweet and helpful. Their warmth and enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. Overall, I cannot praise this restaurant enough. The combination of exceptional food, friendly staff, and attention to detail makes me excited for my next visit to KC just to eat here again. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an extraordinary meal, vegan or non-vegan.

When I tell you this is the BEST vegan food I have ever eaten, BELIEVE ME. Non-vegans will even be impressed. The amazingly friendly and warm atmosphere sends this place over the top. 10/10. Give it a try!

Unbelievable vegan soul food! We love coming here for breakfast and lunch. The hash goes perfect with everything, and the BBQ is our go to lunch item. Everything we have tried is delicious.

10/10 RECOMMEND! The Owner Leonda was kind and welcoming. This was my first visit to Mattie’s Food, coming from Alabama! With that said, she was very informative of the restaurant’s menu and Veganism all together 🌱. My plate came out packed with delicious, flavorful food. Went out emptied, cleared. The Feed My Soul Bowl definitely fed me physically and soulfully. Thank you to the Owner and the Staff for an amazing experience. You all definitely represented for Mrs. Mattie well. (May She rest Peacefully). P.S. I would’ve taken a picture, but I dived in and didn’t come up until I was done. Completely forgot.

Mmmm just enjoyed the BBQ Brisket Sammich, beans and Banana Pudding Cake 😋 SO SO GOOD! Always a welcoming space with owners who obviously care about the community and their customers. Their brisket is made from thin sliced smoked tofu and it is killer. Everything is always so good—nachos, Mac, breakfast… Definitely recommend!

First of all the employees were so friendly from the second we walked in. We got a pancake and biscuit breakfast sandwich that was so good and satisfying. This is the definition of comfort food and I'll be seeing it in my dreams.
