Love this place SO much. Great train on asphalt that winds around the golf course with most of the 3 miles shaded by trees! Say hi to the deer and squirrels as you get your steps on! Very safe with super friendly fellow walkers, runners, joggers, cyclists and even some skaters!
Well kept, even 3 mile pavement hike. Beautiful and serene EXCEPT when the Air Force jets run their training routes overhead. Lasts about 15 minutes and is DEAFENING! Seriously. 10 x louder than you're imagining. Otherwise, Matteson Trail is an easy 5 Star hike.
Please give a like if this review helps... Nice paved trail that runs along a golf course. I really didn't expect much but this is a very nice trail, about 3.1 miles /5K. Trail is very scenic with a bit of wildlife present, and a lot of foot traffic on the Sunday morning I was there but not crowded. I would definitely recommend this trail and will be visiting here again. Wish I had taken more photos, definitely will next time. Enjoy!!
Matteson Trail. A beautiful trail that provides a scenic view of the Hamptons Golf Course. Completely wrapping itself around the course, this trail is medium distance, and has a few twists and bends. With plenty of wildlife and nature, it is perfect for anyone who is looking for a long walk or run, as well as any avid bikers/skaters.
Awesome 3. Mile running trail surrounding a golf course that is immersed in the wilderness. You can see deer, squirrels, and rabbits while running. The actual pavement needs some love but it’s not unbearable. During the really hot sunny days the tall trees shade you so you run is a bit easier. I enjoy this trail

The first 500 yards are pretty noisy because is by the main road but the rest of the trail is peaceful and quiet.
