Service is nice. Not great for sushi, in my opinion. Suspect fish quality, not full of flavor. They do a special where most things are 30-50% off if you pay cash, but with inflated prices, you end up with a semi-discounted set of special rolls that say “you get what you pay for.” Perhaps with all the local sushi spots, this cash/discount approach is the hook. That’s fine, it’s just not for me. Disclaimer, I have gone to “all you can eat” places that are of much better quality. Pictures from the other reviews do not look like what I got, perhaps it was just an off day for them.
Best sushi in Morristown. Everything is incredible, Masago is BYO. We have not had one meal here that we didn't love - it was a hard couple of months during covid when they had to shut down but we made sure to order as soon as they re opened and so grateful they have moved back to in person dining. You truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu and you won't find anything at this quality/ price as it is 50% for cash on sushi and 30% off on kitchen.
We enjoyed ourselves. The selection is quite good and the food was tasty (not mind blowing but definitely good) but the service was super slow probably since it's super packed.
Like others I was skeptical of the discount for cash but i guess... Just make sure you bring cash? Quality is pretty decent and paying cash makes the prices really reasonable (not paying cash makes it a bit steep) although some items like the hibachi dinners do not come with a discount.
Salmon Sashimi was extremely fresh and fatty melting in your mouth wow very good.
The shrimp tempura was clean and flavorful
Pad Thai was delicious
California roll was a bit generic but it makes up for it in taste the avocado was rip and fresh so yum.
Black Angel Roll holy carp! Lol Soooo delicious try it you’ll thank me.
Give this spot a try
Great experience at this well-established, centrally-located Morristown sushi spot. Sat at the chefs’ counter. Sushi was fresh. There’s a 50% discount if you pay with cash over credit card.
Can't beat the cash prices and the sushi is really good! Great selection of rolls and I've tried most of them now. Highly recommend the Sunshine or Tiger Rolls in particular. Great service, as well! The staff are always really nice to us and our friends. Been coming here for a few years now and will keep coming back! Take out or dine in, can't go wrong. You'll probably wait a bit to be seated if you come btwn ~6:30-8pm on a weekend.
A great place to eat sushi and rolls, food is fresh, service is fast. If you pay cash is 30-50% off. You can order to go as well.
I am generally skeptical of half-priced sushi, but Massago is my go-to sushi spot when I'm in Morristown. With party platters that can feed a pack of piranhas, and outstanding rice and noodles dishes, Massago won't leave you disappointed.... or hungry
