Our breakfast was absolutely delightful.Our server was truly exceptional , her attentiveness and warm demeanor made our time here even more memorable. There was wait for sitting but it moved really quick. We were pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the menu items.
First time visiting here today and I’m glad we came in! The service here was warm and welcoming, food was delicious, and there was plenty of parking available. Seems like a great local spot where everyone knows someone.

Breakfast is is served from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mary’s Kitchen has been in business since 1951, over 60 years in business. My late uncles were well known Bishop, Pastors, and Chefs to many around the world. 🙏🏽👨🏾🍳🌎When going out for breakfast Mary’s Kitchen was their place with a special front center corner table. I usually order the Local Favorite or Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Mary’s Kitchen has great menu options. The employees are super friendly. Large free parking lot is available.
I am a creamed chipped-beef fan. After dozens of restaurants, I have concluded “without any hesitation” that “Mary’s Kitchen” chipped-beef is the worst! The chipped-beef is way too salty, has hardly any beef, the quantity is small, and the gravy is way too thick and tasteless. In addition, the breakfast potatoes are a common frozen commercial brand and are dry & flavorless. In the positive side, “Mary’s Kitchen” has a super-riffic serving staff - they always give me “More Smiles Than I Came In With!” and make me wanna return. After 3 tries at “Mary’s” chipped beef, I will not order them ever again - Stouffer’s store brand chipped-beef would be a better choice for”Mary’s” to serve. How about some fresh potatoes too? the atmosphere is spacious with a BIG business feel, rather than a desired “ma & pa” locals feel. “Run-A-Way Bill” was here! - AGAIN Wednesday 12.06.23 p.s. Great breakfast with large portion sizes. The biscuits and sausage gravy was yummy and filling. The Baltic burrito was very good too.
Service is outstanding. We are locals who become tourist. If you are visiting Virginia Beach and looking for a spot with good home cooking, go to this place. This is a spot now on our list to go during the off season. The food was good. I love a simple breakfast and it met every expectation. The restaurant is diner style and cozy. Highly recommend!
Picked up two orders of the Southern Comfort chicken biscuit on our way out of town. Delicious! I would stop again if I’m ever in Virginia Beach. Biscuits were clearly homemade, and the chicken was big and juicy. Fast and hospitable service.
First time back since they reopened last year after ownership took some time off. I've eaten there many times over the years, and this was one of the best breakfasts I've had. Ordered the Rise and Shine over medium, shredded hash browns. Sausage patties, biscuit, and coffee. Everything was hot and fresh. Glad to see the shredded hash browns option (for a time they just offered the "mini French fry" variety). The biscuit was big and delicious, obviously house made. One of the best locals breakfast spots.
