Marriott's Oceana Palms - Featured Reviews (1361)
Very luxurious hotel with hot tub, pool and beachfront. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and tended to us whenever we had requests here and there. Fun place near kayaking jet skiing and fishing. Only problem was they told us that we can bring our kayaks when we called them, but there was no access to actually using them on the beachfront. We drove 10 hours with kayaks to use them on the beach which we understand people bathe in the front we just wished we could have known that or at least launched in the beach and from there so our own thing. No fishing was allowed either which bummed my husband out who had to go to a pier nearby, with dozens of others. Just wished it was more fishing friendly or clear on the policy. Other than that we had a blast but if you like fishing and expect access, it's not the best place to do so.
This is a place I will definitely visit again. I went here with my family of 8 and we fit here with no issues and very comfortable. The pool was very nice and comfortable temperature, the beach area that belonged to them was clean and the workers were helpful and good
We keep coming back to Marriott Oceana Palms! We have been to Aruba, St Thomas, St Johns and most of the resorts on Hilton Head. They are all nice, but at Oceana Palms you make special memories in a spacious 2 BR oceanfront condo that sleeps 8. As a mother of 7 children, I look forward to coming to Singer Island and know the AWESOME staff will take great care of my family. Yari, the general manager, Chris & Andrea are the best! We have been coming here almost every year for over 10 years. Tonight as we watched the 4th of July fireworks I was reminiscing about all the great times at Oceana Palms. My kids aging from 32 yrs down to 13 years old say " Oceana Palms is the best place on earth!
For three days, we stayed in an oceanview suite with two bedrooms, a full kitchen and two full bathrooms. The room was a generous size and the furniture was nice and looked newish. With that said, the room had a bad smell. Opening the balcony sliding doors reduced the smell when we were in the room. The balcony itself was a nice size with good furniture, and we had a nice view of the ocean. We didn't like that our room wasn't ready until 6pm, a full two hours after it was supposed to be ready and available for check-in. No one apologized and no compensation (like a food credit or late checkout) was offered for this. In fact, I felt the manager who handled our check-in was overall a little abrasive. We didn't like that there was no valet for cars or bellboy/porter to help with luggage. Housekeeping did not come to our room every day to replace towels, etc. I don't know how or why this hotel is rated as 4 stars considering the lack of service. Pool area looked nice, although we did not use it.
The resort property is beautiful. They have some great activity offerings. I did at times feel the activity staff was annoyed and didn't explain what to do very well, but overall, they did provide a fun time.
The food service was OK. A few times, they either forgot parts of the order or didn't make the order correctly.
The front desk was training, so check-in took a little longer than usual, they told me. I was disappointed that they did not let me know until my last day here that could I recieve 10% of my charges with my ownership. Also, the coupons would have been nice to have as well. The last mistake was that the desk had told me that I could receive a late checkout in my rooms. One for 11am and the other 12noon. I confirmed with the front desk in person. They assured me this was all set. The next morning, I had to argue with the front desk to be able to keep my late checkout times. They said nothing was mentioned and told me I had to be out at 10 am. They did grant the late checkout times, but it caused frustration on my part for having to argue with them.
Overall the resort is beautiful and the staff is friendly. They just lack follow through on certain things.
We were searching for months for a Florida beach vacation (instead of Orlando) to exchange to. Nothing much coming up - although I was focused on a couple of other larger properties and Oceana Palms doesn't come up for exchange often. It did, and based upon some of the reviews written here, I was hesitant, but we jumped on it. So glad that we did- it was perfect for us. We were looking for some sun, nice beach, good food and drinks and alot of relaxation. We had an OF room, high floor with a spectacular view. Room was updated, clean with every amenity. No complaints. Staff was welcoming & friendly and while we had no kids with us, there were a fair amount due to spring break and seemed to be alot of activities going on. Some of the other reviews indicated there was nowhere to walk to and nowhere close to dine in the area. Each to his own, but we walked several times down to Johnny Longboat's, Mulligan's etc - decent drinks, food and entertainment. Was less than half a mile and we felt safe, while many said it was a terrible crime area. It was a veryu rich, upscale neighborhood and many were walking. In the other direction, we drove to Palm Beach Gardens - 10 minutes +/-. There were several areas for shopping and many upscale fine dining establishments such as The Capital Grille, Carmines etc. I'm sure there are many other areas we didn't even discover. Bottom line, we hope to return!
Was excited to stay here as I love Marriott properties. Looked like a good place to stay. I think the hotel and rooms itself are great. Low key area and great for families. Beautiful beach and a really nice pool with lots of kids and families. ||The quick service restaurant (only one on property) was good and the service was quick. Had a lot of every day needs as well. ||Customer service here is severely lacking. Everyone is very friendly but basically management is no where to be found. I had a 4 pm check in and got to the hotel around noon and checked in. I understand I’d have to wait until 4pm the latest which I was fine with. However every single front desk employee I spoke with kept saying “oh your room will be ready very shortly they’re cleaning it now”. I was very patient as I knew 4pm was technically check in. 4pm came and went and I never received a text my room was ready. When I went to the front desk at 4:05 pm they said “oh they’re just cleaning and inspecting the room shouldn’t be more than 15 min”. It took over 20 min. Next I asked to speak with the manager because I wanted to see what could be done. They “magically” found a room for me. The manager took forever to come out of the back and basically told me to speak to the other manager tomorrow (to pass me off to someone else.)||I have two kids - and this is simply unacceptable. I asked for a late check out which I had to make sure the employee put in the system - at first he just said “sure”.||I requested Marriott points as compensation for this inconvenience (this is pretty standard at Marriott’s) and never received them. ||Lastly the parking at this hotel is ridiculous. The parking garage is insanely small so if you have an suv there’s not many spots you can fit. They even had to add parallel parking spots in front of the elevators which are a tight squeeze. They do have an EV charger but it’s a 3 hour max. ||Overall I loved the property but probably wouldn’t return because customer service is lacking.
We go to the Oceana Palms every year, out of all the ones we have visited, this one is particularly good, everyone is super friendly and accommodating, we've had groups between 6 and 50 throughout the years and we always want to come back.
The pool areas and other amenities are kept in great shape, now that the kids are older, we know they are in a great environment were they can meet other teens and have fun with all the activities they provide.
This is a place where we will be going for many years!
Like other reviews have stated there is significant construction going on to the first floor and exterior common areas (whatever you are thinking... It's more). That said, the construction had (at least during our stay) no impact on your room or any
My dive buddy and I did our SSI open water certification with John and enjoyed every minute of the course. We opted for the small group size of three, which I think is the perfect setup and worth the extra $. Within three days (pool, bridge, then ope
I came all the way from Michigan, and this is good BBQ. Had the ribs and pulled pork - both were phenomenal. The Mac and Cheese was on point. Even the lemonade was delicious. Price was fair - a rarity in the world now
Please support small businesses like this one!!! I LOVE their smoothies. Unlike big name shops where you know they have added sugar, these smoothies are not overly sweet. I am always greeted nicely, my order is prepared timely and even brought to
