Don't fall for the prepaid breakfast ..I thought it was the menu at the bistro wall, but no...as soon you mention the prepaid breakfast, she pulls out a second class citizen menu.
I ordered the breakfast sandwich and I got the flattest egg ever with something that looks like bacon , probably cheese or mayo, I'm not sure, and they microwave it for 4 minutes ...it was hotter than asphalt at noon.
Hotel has great location near Stetson U. Reasonably priced, friendly and courteous staff. Close to downtown Deland and all that it offers. Clean rooms. No free breakfast.
It seemed that they making update to staff were having a little bit of change of people working there, which made for little bit of a unpleasant experience. I was going to try and check in early. Luckily I did not. When I showed up to check in about 2 hours past My check-in time. My room was still not ready. I had to wait for them to finish cleaning up about 45 minutes. It was at this time that I found out that the bar was not open and the restaurant part of the hotel was not open due to staffing shortages. And also that I would not be able to get breakfast. Which later come to find out? I was able to get breakfast I have to say for Having to Starbucks in there and this being a Marriott. My expectations were not met. My egg Sandwich serve to me on a plain hamburger bun it was very disappointing.
Egg sandwiches should not be put on a plain hamburger . The staff was as friendly as they could be. The hotel was clean. It was nice that when the power went out, they did have a generator to power it up. Hopefully, there staffing problems and shortages. We'll be taken care of soon and the service will be better. I still would suggest going here but check to make sure if you are going there and expecting to get your breakfast, lunch, and dinner while you're there that this is open running.
Convenient location for exploring old town DeLand on foot, which is why we stayed there. We are Marriott rewards members, so stay at Marriott hotels exclusively. The hotel and room were very clean, modern (their greyscale decor could REALLY use some pops of color though). Housekeeping does a tremendous job! The front desk... eh, not so much. When we were checking in, an older gentleman in front of us was having a bit of trouble getting his credit card to register (not a problem; we were in no hurry) so he took a few minutes. When he turned away, the clerk rolled his eyes in disgust not even trying to be discreet about his exasperation. The room was great; clean, updated bathroom and the air was nice and COOL; but the bed was HARD, not comfortable at all. If a quiet, undisturbed sleep is important to you, my recommendation is to take a room overlooking, or towards the parking lot on the back side of the hotel. Ours overlooked N. Woodland BLVD. Cars with loud mufflers and noisy trucks rattled by all night long. Apparently the place isn't very well sound-proofed and the concrete buildings there tend to funnel all that sound right up into the room. It woke us constantly both nights we were there. Annoying.
This overpriced hotel is unlike any other Marriott. We're loyal to the brand because we trust that we'll find their usual high standards, but this particular property was disappointing. No amenities at all: no maid service, no breakfast bar or happy hour (as advertised on posters in the elevators). The room we had was clean and seemed new, but it was not worth what we were charged (a whopping $350 per night!). It was a very expensive price for the equivalent of a roadside motel. I'm posting this review so others will know that this Marriott is NOT a three-star property. It's time the corporate assessors have a look at this one and bring it up to speed. One star, because I can't give it zero.
We enjoyed our stay. Was a wonderful 3-day getaway. Walk the Stetson University campus in the morning. Hotel was also walking distance within restaurants, bars and bakeries.
It was worth the wait, DeLand needed a solid downtown hotel and this one delivers. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. The interior room color scheme is calming and the beds are heavenly. There is virtually no noise once your inside your room, we extended our stay by 4 days and spent more time driving to destinations so we could come back here.
What a great experience my friend and I had this past weekend. The hotel was conveniently located in the heart of the downtown area and steps from Stetson University. The room was quite large very well-appointed. The finishes were definitely better than the norm the detail even in the wallpaper and how it was designed in the bathroom was quite thought out. Everyone was friendly and accommodating especially the young lady Athena at check-in. She was a fountain of information, information about the hotel and information about Deland all the tid bits that you wouldn't necessarily read in a travel brochure! Charming professional warm and friendly. My friend enjoyed a cocktail downstairs by The Bistro and said that the two young ladies also warm friendly and enjoyable to be around. This experience will definitely make me put Marriott as my first choice in the future when booking a hotel and definitely if I plan to go back to Deland stay at this location.
The bar is amazing. They need to update their hot water system. When you wake up, turn the hot water on and go for a jog around the block. It might be hot when you get back. ð
Comfortable place for the money on a high occupancy Daytona Turkey Run weekend. The queen beds were nice and clean. The couch with a fold out futon was great for additional sleeping guests. Continental breakfast was hot and included excellent choices
So much fun for for a 10th birthday party! When you book a party, you get the whole space to yourself for 2 hours. Communication was excellent leading up to the party and the awesome owner Kelsey was on-site to assist. The common area is really coo
Wow. This place is pretty cool. I took my kids here last night and we had so much fun, they didnt want to leave. We met the owners Tony and Angel they are really cool and played some games with my kids. They do sell a few drinks and snacks. We loved
This is where I eat when in DeLand. Ribs, pork chops, meatloaf are all excellent. Prices are reasonable especially considering the portions. People there are friendly and welcoming. Do yourself a favor and eat here. You will not regret it.
I fell in love with frozen custard almost 10 years ago and I get SO excited when I find a custard (instead of an ice cream) shop! Iâve gone to whits more times than Iâd like to admit over the last year since I moved back to the area and I always
Santorini is a GEM. The service, food, and atmosphere are wonderful. After strolling around downtown Deland, and visiting the great shops, we enjoyed a delightful meal.
We ordered their whole fish special, and it was delicate and light. The roaste
Best place to watch stetson play ball. Clean concessions and even cleaner bathrooms. Seats are far enough apart to have enough space for taller people.
