"A Mixed Experience at La Marquesa, Key West" Review: I recently stayed at La Marquesa in Key West and I must say, the hotel's architecture is nothing short of sublime. The interior gardens are a fabulous oasis, boasting three swimming pools that create a serene and inviting atmosphere. A special mention must be made for the two gentlemen at the reception, who were exceptionally pleasant and embodied the true spirit of hospitality. Our room was spacious, comfortably furnished, and maintained with impeccable cleanliness. Also, Bob the cat at the reception added a unique and delightful touch to our stay. However, there were aspects that didn’t quite meet my expectations. As a traveler who enjoys a leisurely morning, the breakfast schedule from 7 to 10 AM felt restrictive. Waking up at 9 or 9:30 AM and then rushing for breakfast is not ideal. An extension till 11 AM would make a significant difference, offering a more relaxed and vacation-friendly experience. It was also surprising to find that at 10 AM sharp, even the filter coffee was promptly removed. Furthermore, as a smoker, I was quite disappointed to learn post-reservation that the resort is entirely non-smoking, without even a designated smoking area. While non-smokers might find this policy appealing, it would have been helpful to have this information clearly stated on their website to manage expectations of guests like myself. In summary, La Marquesa is a splendid choice for non-smoking guests who are early risers. Its beauty and service are commendable, but it's important for potential guests to be aware of its policies and schedules to ensure it aligns with their preferences.

This was our first time staying at the Marquesa. The location is great since it’s right in the middle of town. Overall, it’s a great place and staff is very friendly. They charge a $45 resort fee per day which is steep considering they do not have many amenities there. The pools were nice and quiet. There is no gym on the premises. Another negative was they do not provide turn down housekeeping at night. However, the day time housekeeping was excellent. It was nice to have the continental breakfast (coffee was great) but they hardly had anything there! No protein options and no dairy free milk. They just had granola, muffins, croissants, corn flakes and bananas. No fresh fruit besides bananas and sometimes oranges. I’m dairy free and gluten free, so unfortunately I had no options to eat. It was still a wonderful stay and very charming and relaxing there. I just wish that they had better breakfasts, turn down nightly service and a gym! Then would be perfection!!! Again, thanks to the staff there! We will be back!

Staff are all amazing, helpful, knowledgeable and so friendly. Hotel super clean, my suite was a lot more modern than the pictures, which was a pleasant surprise. Lacking are: breakfast - some pastries, coffee, tea, juice and granola.. nothing hot, nothing made to order, no kitchen or pool service. The Cafe Marquesa Restaurant (dinner only) is the best in the island, I went 3 times during my stay... one of the best restaurants I've ever visited, so worth a try even if you decide to stay elsewhere.

Large rooms and baths. Comfortable beds. Private and relaxing. Staff was amazing. Close to Duval street. Loved it! It’s a bit pricey but worth every penny. Loved the outdoor sitting areas and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience at the Marquesa!! The grounds, pools, Continental Breakfast, Welcoming wine, the beautiful spacious suite and the awesome staff and Concierge services made my birthday weekend a beautiful experience!! And the restaurant, what a culinary gem!! Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Key West when we return! Thank you to everyone!! Cleaning staff too!!

Amazing location - one block from Duval - we walked everywhere easily. Facilities are top notch and comfortable - room very clean and well appointed. Couldn't have asked for more. Staff was exceptional. Highest recommendation. We will definately stay here again!

After 8 nights, congrats to Alex and Claudia and Drew and Bill and Keith — all superlative! The room was expansive AND cool — all new ACs, important to Texans! Very nice accommodations - will def stay again.

We continue to return to the Marquesa Hotel for its wonderful atmosphere, lovely rooms, excellent staff, and great location. The adjacent restaurant is superb dining as well. The Marquesa is a first class experience in every way.
