Marina Beach Motel - Featured Reviews (346)
Another excellent stay at the Marina Beach Motel! This time, we splurged and reserved a room with a kitchen/eating area and a walled-in patio - well worth the extra cost. As always, the room was updated, very clean and the kitchen was well stocked to eat dinner in the suite. The outdoor patio was perfect for our morning breakfast (provided by the motel staff) and sipping coffee before heading to the beach for a morning walk. The location of this place is ideal - one block from the beach and in a very quaint, gorgeous neighborhood with lots of high end inns and hotels. The staff was as friendly as ever. This was our fourth stay - and we will definitely be back!
This place was amazing!!!! Everything was new and remodeled. Don’t let “motel” throw you off- it’s actually like a nice small hotel. Great breakfast with local items. Great location close to everything. We were able to use the free bike rentals and they even have one 4 people cruiser you could use. This was an amazing find for us and made our trip to Santa Barbara fabulous. Highly recommend!
Well, here I go. I started staying at the Marina Beach in1998 and have come back a dozen times if not more over the years. Just got home from a 3-night stay. Appears they just recently upgraded / remodeled rooms, but not a 100% remodel. We had a bathtub without a working stopper, and the shower diverter valve was not working will at all and had not been changed out for years!! The hot water control gave you so much hot water that you couldn't reach the lever to get colder water. The linens where very nice and clean, I Love the Marina Beach for being so dog friendly. They have a lobby dog that is nice to see. The grounds keepers were hard at work and very visible to the guests. We appreciated them keeping everything tidy and looking good. The check in front desk has very pleasant staff. Parking is very tight in the spaces but amazingly quiet in the evenings and mornings, except local garbage trucks very early in the morning. But folks, don't sleep past 600 get out and go for a walk its beautiful to get out early. For now that's all I have to share. Compared to other place in and around Bath street they are very competitive.
Although pricey it was worth it. Perfect location and lovely rooms. The shower was the best I’ve ever had! Parking right outside your room and loved the free bike hire - great touch as we had fun cycling all the way down the cycle lane on the beachfront. A cute little breakfast was provided and cookies in the afternoon. A water machine to fill your water bottles up is also in reception.
This motel is very solid 4.5 stars. The kitchen was convenient and the free bikes were very handy for a beach ride every morning. Staff seemed attentive. Rooms were roomy and well appointed. As others have noted, the parking lot is tight but street parking seemed relatively easy if you are traveling with a large vehicle.Location is 1/2 block to the beach, a couple blocks to all the State Street action and wharf, and about a 10 minute walk to the Funk Zone breweries and wine bars. The only weak link is the breakfast. Have dry cereal/ english muffin expectations for breakfast and you won't be disappointed.
This place is perfect for a vacation! Even you can stay there for weeklong as it has nice kitchen and utensils to help you with. Frontdesk staffs were nice and very helpful. Breakfast was sufficient and coffee was good. We took the free bikes (need to sign a waiver form) and the morning bike ride was also pleasant. Overall very nice experience at this motel in SB.
My boyfriend and I have stayed here many times. We see a lot of shows at the Santa Barbara bowl, and it’s just a bit too far from our home in San Luis Obispo to drive home late at night after a show. SB area is notoriously expensive when it comes to accommodations. We have had some real duds in terms of airbnbs, but Marina Beach never disappoints. The rooms are a good size and quiet, super clean. Love that the king rooms have a kitchenette. They are very near to the water front, and even have beach cruiser bikes you can borrow to go pedal around the marina. Check in and check out has always been easily, and they are one of the more affordable locations in the area. I think we have walked to the bowl before from the motel but it’s a HIKE, would recommend a short Uber. I’m quite picky about hotels/have pretty high standards about surroundings and cleanliness, and this place has always felt cozy, clean, and safe. It will continue to be our go-to for over nights for shows at the bowl. Every time we got for a 1 night stay I always leave saying “babe we really do need to come for a whole weekend some time and just explore around.” Any place to leave wishing you stayed longer is a win.
We stayed only one night at the Marina Beach Motel, but we were glad we chose it. The motel is super clean and new, and the staff were friendly. It's also pet friendly, which is a big plus for us. It was within walking distance of the beach. Thank you for a great stay!
For me, my Bar Method classes are as important as taking my vitamins! I have been going regularly for nearly two years now and I feel so strong and healthy. The instructors go through a lot of training so you can count on having a good, challenging c
The best F45 I've been to. Class was packed with almost 50 members. All the coaches, specifically Coach Katrina, found time to motivate and challenge me through one of the best workouts I've had in months.
