We had the most amazing vacation in South padre island and the hotel was one of the biggest reasons. Great location, close to everything and direct access to the beach. The pool was spacious and beautiful. Our suite was amazing and we had the greatest view. Dylan and Stacey went out of their way so many times to make our stay wonderful. Javi, Michelle and all the bartenders kept the drinks flowing and the food coming. Could not have asked for more.

My stay was in late Jan 2024. The room was nicely furnished and clean. The restaurant had good food and drinks. Most of the staff was friendly but I’m rating my stay a 1 star due to the less than stellar service received on my last day. I needed to be on the road early and checked out at 8:30am. There was no hot water when I woke up and I wasn’t able to take a warm comfortable morning shower, so I settled for a cold one. When I let the checkout person know my room had no hot water, he said that it was unfortunate there was no hot water and it was due to a recirculating pump going bad but that it was back up and the hotel would have hot water soon. Well, that wasn’t helpful for me as I was leaving already. He didn’t offer anything to accommodate the lack of hot water and he wasn’t concerned at all. Not sure about the other patrons, but I don’t enjoy paying full price for basic amenities and then not receive those amenities. I settled the bill and was waiting for the valet when I noticed I didn’t get my free valet perk. Their perks program is a nice touch but could use some refinement when it comes to redeeming. It felt awkward having to ask the waitress how to get the free drink, cashier how to get the shopping discount and parking attendant about the free parking perk. You have to fill out a little receipt when getting the free drink and show your phone to the clerk for the store discount. Not sure what the process is for the free parking as they didn’t apply it correctly. I walked back to the desk to ask about adjusting the bill for the free valet parking. The clerk immediately put the blame on me and asked if I had told the parking attendant about the perk. I told him I did and that the hotel also has a copy of the perks I chose and he should be able to easily see that at checkout. His approach and attitude was very unprofessional but he did adjust for the free valet parking. A bit of advice to the hotel leadership, redeeming perks should be a smooth and frictionless process for the guest, please don’t make your guests have to ask the staff to apply their specific perks. Incorporate the perks with their wrist band or maybe a card the guest can surrender to the staff.

This place is absolutely wonderful! I only have one complaint and it’s that they told us check in was at 3pm but our room wasn’t ready until 4pm. Besides that, our stay was absolutely perfect! The entire hotel is updated and has a cute theme throughout. The heated pool was the best part of our stay! We were able to enjoy the pool even on days in the 60’s. The swim up bar is fun and a great addition to our fun pool days. Our condo room was more than we could have ever anticipated! It had two balconies with a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico. The kitchen was nice, furniture comfortable, bathrooms were great! The beds were a good combination of soft & firm. My favorite thing were the big, plushy bath towels & robes that were available in our condo. We loved how family friendly this resort is!! Lots of kids at the pool everyday. Which makes for a fun atmosphere for parents. It was nice to see that they cleaned the pool often! I will stay here again! Thank you Margaritaville & Staff for a five star experience!

My wife and I stayed there 2 nights at the end of January on a nominally-discounted Travelzoo promotion. We arrived in the evening and the room was cold (about 64 degrees), so we turned on the heat to warm it up. We set it to 72 and gradually increased it to 80, but there was no heat. We called the front desk and alerted them and they said someone from engineering would come by to look at it. When we got back from dinner, still cold -- perhaps they had just not come yet. So we tried the front desk several times but amazingly no answer. My wife just loaded up with all the clothes she could wear from the suitcase and we went to bed. The next morning I went to the front desk that had a long line and one person behind the desk talking on the phone. After 10 minutes wait with no movement, we went to the restaurant for breakfast. Afterward, I returned to the front desk only to see the people we were behind before just leave the counter. I told them to either fix the heat or move us to another room (the hotel did not seem very busy). Housekeeping did not clean the room until after 3PM but the heat was fixed. The pool (and at a minimum the kiddie pool) was not heated. Families were pretty upset as the water was too cold for them to play. We chose to not go in for that reason. We discovered on the second night that the room was a 'pet friendly' room as we looked for the Do Not Disturb cards for the door. The card said FURRY FRIENDS INSIDE with a dog paw print. My wife has animal allergies and thankfully did not have any reaction, but it was the idea that we were not notified of the room ahead of time. So the service and responsiveness was subpar (except for the restaurant). And that reflected in the condition of the property.

Great vibe and facilities. Higher level rooms on the south side come with a balcony view of Starbase, and are a good size, clean and modern. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. We went out of season (around Christmas) and it was quiet enough that there was always room in the pool, bars, and restaurants. Food and drink is not cheap by any means, however not out of the norm for a resort.

This was the first time I stayed at a Margaritaville hotel, and it sure was a delight! The lobby is fun and clean with lots of fun chairs. The rooms are so festive and really clean. The floor did kind of feel sandy, but that's not terrible. Everyone was nice and the pool was fun. It was a great getaway place to spend with my family at South Padre Island!

Beautiful location, beach views and decor. Loved our room, except they only had half a shower door which soaked the entire bathroom during a shower. The reason for one lost star was they allow kids in the swim up bar pool area which totally ruined the pool experience. Margaritas were also extremely small and expensive. Other than that, really enjoyed this resort.

We rented a two bedroom condo for a 2-night stay. The first night we had dinner downstairs at the Land Shark Grill restaurant. The food was not great and the service was awful. The waiter was rude, told my elderly brother in law he had to eat the food (which was not what he had ordered). We did not expect to get that type of service having spent a considerable amount in their restaurant. The manager handled it well and discounted the plate after my husband complained, but we did not go back. We cooked in the condo but the kitchen was missing 2 counter stools so two of us ate standing up. There were missing items (cloth towels, potato peeler, blender, light bulbs).We finished the 1 role of paper towels that was provided and I went in person, to the counter, to task for another. I was told the cleaning crew had to take it to us and it took them almost an hour. When they did go, they took toilet paper, so they went back and took even longer. Overall the cleanliness of the condo was poor, it was discouraging to have paid so much for that experience. There is inefficiency and lack of customer service all over this resort.

We stayed our 1st night in a much older Comfort Inn. Woke up to Roaches crawling in the bed, on the walls, and all over the toilet paper!! We left!! We relocated to a brand new Comfort Inn, and everything was wonderful!!
