I can't speak for the rooms or for the hotel itself as I was a guest here for a wedding and I have to say, we were very disappointed. We were confined to a small outdoor space and weren't allowed anywhere else. The service was terribly slow. On Sundays, the brunch was open to the public and took 2 hours for a price of toast. I kid you not. Food was so so. This was a disappointing place for a wedding venue in NOLA. I'd recommend elsewhere for your wedding.
I cannot give this venue high enough praise. The venue is absolutely stunning and you can tell the owners care a lot about making it a great space. The staff was accommodating, helpful, gracious, and friendly.
Excellent venue space, and the hot tub is a good size! Bar area and they serve food there as well have a hotel space
The hotel/space itself is very lovely. My biggest issue is location. Everything around Margaret Place is in ROUGH shape. The buildings are all peeling and appear dilapidated. Also, it's 1-2 blocks from an overpass, where many people are living. We got a tour from Trent, who didn't seem to want to give us tour. He was more interested in tell us how about how cool the people that come to events there are?? All in all, we decided against having an event here because of the lack of chemistry with event staff and the questionable safety of the immediate area.
We stayed in the Upriver room. We had a great stay. The room is nicely appointed. The bathroom is awesome with the bidet and digital shower. The only thing to consider for this room is the bed is very low to the floor. Not a huge problem for us, but I do wish it was a normal height bed.
Also there is some traffic noise at night. Not a big deal. Kind of white noise.
We would 100% stay here again and recommend it.
I booked 3 nights recently for a expo that I was attending nearby. The Manager was a pleasure to talk to! She was very responsive to questions and provided answers and info for everything I needed. The cafe' was very good and the staff was amazing and kind. They make a great breakfast sandwich! I had to leave very early on my last day (before the cafe' opened) and the chef offered to come in early just to make me some breakfast.
The building was very nice and well kept. A beautiful historic building on the outside, but on the inside all of the rooms are very updated with a lot of modern amenities. This is one hotel where I feel the pictures do not lie. I would stay here again next time I visit NOLA.
The moment we toured Margaret Place as a potential spot for our wedding ceremony and reception, we fell in love with the venue. It’s the perfect combination of style, charm, and hospitality. The aesthetic is immaculate, and I have no doubt that Trent and his team could match whatever mood a customer is aspiring to achieve for their event. We had local guests and out-of-towners, alike, rave about the beauty of the venue. The Margaret Place staff were professional, competent, and accommodating to all our needs. With it being a semi-outdoor venue, one of our biggest fears came true – the dreaded rain. However, the staff enacted a rain plan with grace and efficiency – so much so that no one would have ever guessed it was our alternate strategy. I will forever look back on Margaret Place with immense fondness – it was such a perfect venue to an incredible day.
We booked Margaret Place for our wedding and reception, and couldn't be happier with that decision. The booking process was easy because everything is transparent on their website. For so many other venues you are playing phone tag to try to figure out what dates are available. We booked it site unseen, and finally went to see it a few months before our wedding. We met Trent, the owner, who obviously sees the place as a passion project. It's charming in daylight, but once the sun goes down the lighting is just beautiful. While we were planning our wedding they were in the process of adding additional services which to me, make this a no-brainer. Excellent kitchen and bar, beautiful bridal suite, a cafe on site. They brought us complimentary coffees while getting ready, and I ordered a tasty sandwich. If you are looking for an inside-outside breezy flow for your cocktail hour and reception, this is a great choice.

We had such a wonderful time staying at The Inn. We were greeted by our wonderful host⦠I mean warden. Todd was great and walked us around the jail, showing us where everything was. He had great suggestions for where to eat and shop. The kitchen ha
This is the cutest hotel. Our room was a lot bigger than we initially thought it would be. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our TV the first night. We had plans to explore during the day and then go to dinner at night
The executive king room is amazing, like having our own apartment right in the heart of the French quarter. Very clean. Great hotel staff. Easy to walk everywhere. My only complaints would be the water pressure is non-existent, but I imagine with old
Excellent accommodations! Though basic and simple, the rooms are spacious, clean, and sufficient. The beds are very comfortable. A NICE amenity was the over-sized fridge in each room. Thereâs a microwave in the common area also. Convenient and safe

From the moment you step into the grand lobby, it becomes apparent that this hotel is not merely a place
We loved everything about this place. Quirky, colorful, and historically old with tons of artwork everywhere. Lots of personality. Our room was super cute and we slept comfortably in the bed. We enjoyed hanging out on the private balcony.

This hotel was such a pleasure to stay out. Where do I even begin.

Best coffee. Best staff. Best location!
Newer coffee shop that is above and beyond what has been available in the area before now.
Locally owned and operated. Queer inclusive.

This was one of my favorite museums during my visit. I learned so much. Didn't know about the free People of Color in Louisiana. Imagine if they had been allowed to thrive... how different America would be today.
Of all the trees in City Park the McDonough Oak is likely the oldest and the most majestic. The huge branches have sagged to the ground under their own weight and over time. This tree stood in an ancient forest on this spot long before Europeans arri
