We arrived at dusk and the area is close to the industrial district. The clerk looked more like one of the grounds keepers than the office staff. We drove into the RV parking area and we saw a man repairing what looked like his motor cycle with 2 dogs on a leash. there was a chemical odor in the air, like a refinery. I did not feel safe and did not want to leave my RV in the park unattended while we visited New Orleans for fear that it would be either be damaged or not there when we returned. This was the worst place that we have ever seen that calls itself a ||RV Park.

I had plan to stay in one of the Rvs for one night in the middle of a road trip to have some fun in NOLA . I booked the RV via Booking.com for $60.00 which had the check-in time for anytime after noon. I had travel with my dog and was happy to see the RV was dog friendly. Arrive at the RV park a few minutes before noon to check in and left my dog in the RV. To start the area seem in a questionable area next to a gas station with folks just hanging around. The young clerk inform me that check-in was not at noon but at 2pm. After I pointed out that booking.com had the check in out noon , I was given I blank look back and told that there was no clean RVs or rooms in their hotel. I also notice there was a $25 dog fee which seem high compare to the cost of the RV for a night. Was told to check back in 30 minutes that maybe she could work something out.At that point I drove to the back to check out the Rvs. Very dirty grounds with no cars or anyone around including any cleaning crews. After waiting 40 minutes I attempted to go back inside the lobby to question the status of the RV. The lobby door was lock and on one around. At that point I cancel the booking and found a 4 start hotel in the downtown area for $110 with no pet fee.

This was, by far, the most unsanitary establishment we have ever been to in our entire lives! I have no idea how this place is not shut down by law. First, we were put off by the location as we exited one exit too early and were terrified to ask for directions. There was even a large casual dump area right next to the gas station where we were able to ask for directions. Once we found the correct road, it was not a lot better than where we first exited. Very shady, I would definitely not want to be outside at night here alone. Be that as it may, I have stayed at much riskier places than this locations. The location is definitely not our biggest complaint. But before we get to that, let's continue in order. We, after driving 10 hours, get to Mardi Gras RV park. I have been chatting with Bret via email several times telling him there are 4 of us staying in one unit. He gives me a total amount over email, not once but twice. We get there and he charges me $40 more and says it is for the extra people. I explain to him that this is not what he had quoted me and he looked at me like I had 3 heads. I was extremely tired from the straight drive through and just said forget it as I am sure he expected me to say this. Once we begin walking to the camper he begins to explain to us that there may not be any propane there and that means we may not have any heat and no hot water. Ummmm WHAT? We walk past about 8 vacant campers before he tells us this one is ours and tries to unlock it. It takes him a few tries but he gets it. We can tell that many people have had trouble getting into this camper as it has clearly been broken into. He opens the door and you can smell musty nastiness. At this point we just want to leave but my husband reminds me that this is Mardi Gras and everything else is either booked or 1000 per night. And if we went home, we would definitely pass out at the wheel. We had no real choice but to stay. So we figured we would only be staying in this crap hole for a few hours per day and the rest of the time we would be out and about, so we decided to rough it. We were informed upon Bret's checking the camper that there was in fact no propane. There was dirt all on the floor. There was hair in the covers of the bed. And a variety of shades and lengths of hair at that. Thank goodness we are accustom to camping and brought out own bedding. When we flushed the toilet, it leaked from under the toilet bowl down by the floor. There was no holder for the shower head, so even if you dared to take a cold shower, you would not have been able to. No plug for the kitchen sink or the bathroom tub or sink. No soaps offered anywhere. No heater and it got down to 38 degrees both nights we were there. We asked for an electric heater when we went to tell Bret that the lights quit working and Bret said he would see if he could find something. We never seen Bret again during our stay. There was a very kind man that was very ill and coughing all over the place as the maintenance man who came to fix the light problem. He fixed the light. When we complained about the heat, he offered us a heater from his own live-in camper from the lot. Such a nice guy he was. I did photograph all the craziness in the unit. The wires all over the place. The fact that the TV was very tiny and 6 inches from your face and you got one channel. The microwave was disgusting with blown up food all over it. There were no cooking utensils, I guess that didn't matter since there was no gas to cook with. The refrigerator door did not close. The windows were broken and taped. The upholstery was either taped on or stained and stank. The floor by the entrance was rotten and another piece of linoleum was placed over it. The jacks were not even on the ground. There was graffiti on the wall. I am glad I am not above buying candles to cover the scent and cleaning up a bit so I can enjoy my vacation a bit more, even though I am not supposed to have to. I think anyone that says this place is nice must be one of those hoarder people or something. I just cannot fathom anyone staying in this place without having a problem with it.

Excellent location off of Interstate 10. Located on Highway 90 (Chef Menteur Highway). Close to the Central Business District and French Quarter. Friendly tenants, Free Wi-Fi. Well stocked convenience store located at the front of the property. Regional Transit Authority Bus Stop to Canal Street and the Central Business District/French Quarter located directly on Chef Menteur Highway close to the RV park.Leave your RV here and ride the bus to the French Quarter. Reasonable daily, weekly, and monthly rates.

Made reservations and when my sons and I got here we found that the RV's have no functioning appliances or bathrooms or even AC, there were small black bugs everywhere inside, we ended up sleeping in the van outside. The bathrooms that are for the entire park were all plugged and fecal matter and urine everywhere. I have never been more disgusted in my life. Complete and utter rip off.

The review dont reflect the new owner. They are cleaning up fresh paint etc. Very nice people. Your choice of pavement or grass. Very quite. The price you can beat anywhere in town. Yes the outside neighborhood is not the best but whos to judge. I think you should give them a chance.

Mardi Gras rv resort is pretty poor for facilities no big deal with self contained unit but the access into New Orleans brilliantl. Public transport 2 stops to canal street less then 30 minutes $3 for 24 hour pass ,buses run every 30 minutes until midnight . What more can you ask for !!!

This park was one of the most dirty and unsafe parks we have been in. We were scheduled for a one week stay but after one night (only because we arrived late) we found a much better park down the street the next morning. The office staff was friendly and helpful and that is the only good point of this place.
