Manresa Castle Hotel - Featured Reviews (627)
We stayed here because we were ghost hunting. Our room, the tower suite room 302, is reported to be the most haunted room here. I had read reviews that the rooms were not that nice, but I was pleasantly surprised! Our room was beautiful! Furnished with plenty of vintage pieces. Clean and comfortable. Great view of the gardens and the distant ocean. I was pleased that elevator was functional (you need a staff member to operate it for guests, it's the oldest functioning elevator in Washington state!). Staff were friendly (many of them did not speak English it seems) and front desk lady Amber Dawn was so excited to share ghost stories with us!
If I had to find some flaws, I would say the bathroom mirror is ridiculously too high to even see most of your reflection, and the large beautiful shower has no shelves to hold soaps at all. Our room does not have a microwave. There were some tiny stains on the comforters also.....
As for ghosts! We did not see or experience much of the mysterious, but we did use our EMF detector to communicate with a few spirits, the EMF was going crazy in our room!
Room was dilapidated, mold on shower curtain, electrical nightmare of tv wires and plugs, no handle on fridge, hanging bar for clothes was about 3 feet above the only table in the room. Rusted heater in bath, paint peeling off the tiny shelf in bath, masking tape on door cover, only a tiny window tilt out, so zero ventilation. No air conditioning. Disgusting. Tiny cheap picture was the only art on the largest wall. I have pictures of all of it but no way to post. This place isn't "quaint". It's miserable.
As advertised this castle has reinvented itself several times over since it’s construction in the late 1800’s. The rooms and layout reflect its history. They have worked to keep much of the original designs. That said, the showers are cozy and the shower head streamed outside the shower creating a puddle on the floor. Our room overlooked the bay, which let a lot of nice light in.|Staff were friendly.
Quaint and comfy! This is a historic building and take into account that the elevator operator is the receptionist so wait times are expected if you don't want to climb stairs. Lovely view from our room. Disappointing quality of cocktails and beer at the bar. Didn't try the food at the restaurant. The staff were great, not sure why the drinks were not and hopefullywill improve. We enjoyed our one night stay here.
“Manresa Castle” was just okay. We were on the 3rd floor, The kids took the tower room, which had 2 beds, and we had a large bedroom with a king size bed and a large Jacuzzi bath. I liked the vintage building, but I didn't like that check-in time wasn't until 4pm. 2pm is best, 3pm just okay. 4pm is ridiculous.
The front desk lady was kind, but the cleaning staff couldn't even say “Hello”. I said “Hi” they just stared back at me. No smile.
Both rooms had an ocean view that would have been spectacular IF the windows weren't so utterly FILTHY. Seriously, call a window washer. My house is cleaner than this hotel I paid to stay at.
The room had a massive, junky looking air conditioner with a big hose that went to the window. “Better than nothing” is not what you expect when you pay to stay at a hotel, especially when you're paying for a vintage vibe.
Their restaurant was Mexican. Are you kidding me? If you're marketing your hotel as a vintage mansion, serve food more fitting to the environment. Foreign food can be amazing, but it something you eat when you “Feel” like it, that's why people say things like “I feel like Italian tonight. What about you?” “No, I feel like Vietnamese.” We already had Mexican, so we were forced to leave the hotel and find food elsewhere.
I wouldn't stay here again.
I thought it would be cool to stay in a castle on our road trip. I'm not sure that Manresa Castle quite lived up to expectations. ||The history of the building is fascinating. Some of the current design/ decor choices in both the common spaces and in our room are a bit interesting. Despite there being a few common areas, we didn't feel comfortable hanging out in any of them for various reasons. ||Our room itself was clean, and we did have a view.
Stayed there for 2 weeks. Great price and great management. I was working 12hrs a day and the best part about this hotel is the restaurant downstairs. So convenient and very good. I probably had 10 different things and all were delicious. The service was great too. Will definitely stay again and tell my friends as well.
Had such a lovely experience here at the Manresa Castle. The hotel staff were welcoming and informative about the local town, the history of the castle and even the "possible hauntings" that may occur inside. The beds were clean, fairly spacious bath rooms *our bathroom door did kept opening on its own so maybe there's a ghost or simply put maybe its the wind from the open windows. Whos to say lol.* Rooms came with a TV and mini fridge *microwave in the lobby if needed.* The restaurant in the castle was delicious, nice and apparently host karaoke sometime. I didn't get a good picture of my plate because I started scarfing it down but I order two beef tacos and one cheese enchilada with beans & it was great.
Very enjoyable time staying here. It's not a far drive to the light house and beach where you can look for sea glass & shells. Might even see some sea otters on the beach, or a bald eagle like we did.
Loved staying in this old building! So interesting and unique. The room felt enormous with it's crazy high ceilings. Perfect location. I know it's a historic building, but the rooms do feel like they could use an extra touch of historically accurate
We LOVE Marina Cafe! They have lunch everyday that comes with a salad, chips, cookie and soda and whatever hot sandwich/wrap is made for the day. On Thursday through Saturday evenings, they now have tapas, beer, cider and wine and it is the best thin
I went here for my first time today. It was amazing! I had absolutely no idea this museum and restoration shop was even here. This place helps kids get in to aviation too. I loved it. If I didn't live so dang far, I would definitely volunteer as an A
Wonderful park with great play areas and beautiful quiet areas to contemplate the universe. Be sure to check out the bench swing and many secret gardens
Our favorite restaurant in Port Townsend! So good we went 2 nights in a row during our trip. We came back for their amazing pasta and ice cream! The seasonal ice cream was apple pie and itâs the best! Their devil eggs and scallops are our favorites
My wife and I drove up from Poulsbo for the day to be tourists. We asked a local merchant for a recommendation. He gave us 3 choices and we chose the Fountain Cafe. Itâs a block from the main road but worth the walk.
Wow. The food was fantast
