Manny's Place - Restaurant in Tacoma - 3814 N 26th St, USA

We have a list from the paper on must try breakfast places. Today was our day to give Manny's Place a try. It is not a very big place, I think around 15 tables. The interior isn't anything to talk about, just tables and a few decor items. The menu isn't large, but it would cover the basic breakfast items. We both had bacon and eggs. Eggs were cooked as we ordered, scrambled, and over medium. The meal came with two pieces of bacon, the menu said pepper bacon, but we both didn't taste any pepper. The bacon was very tasty and nicely cooked, not to crisp or limp. The hasbrowns were crisp and yet tender, quite good. We each had sourdough toast, one slice per plate. So Manny's has a good basic breakfast, hot and fresh, but nothing exceptional. The server was attentive and very pleasant.

My hubby got the French toast and I got the chicken fried steak. The French toast was delicious and the syrup they used tasted like caramel. The chicken fried steak was perfectly crunchy and the gravy delicious. It feels pricey but between the portion and taste it was worth it.

Parking can be a little tricky, but we parked around the corner at the Safeway. Only about 90 seconds away. Food was all very well prepared and tasty. Slightly under seasoned, but a little salt worked great. Food quality also seemed really good. Everything was prepared well. Servers were on top of things, even with it being busy. Didn't need to ask for much. Drinks did not skimp on alcohol which was nice. Though I didn't enjoy my rum and coke. Probably the only thing that we didn't like. Would recommend this place if you're looking for a solid, local breakfast or brunch spot. I'll be going back here.

Straight up best diner I’ve been to in a long while! Big cups of great coffee, the chicken fried steak with its from scratch gravy, fabulous, the hash browns were perfect not greasy not burnt. Highly recommend! And the staff, wonderful, attentive, friendly and prompt. Could b it be happier!!

Wait was not that long, they called our cell to let us know when a table was ready. Place was packed and servers always had smiles going at all time. Coffee cup was never empty. I love it!

Have been wanting to try Manny's for a long time. Finally had the opportunity to have breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Cynthia our server was fantastic. She made recommendations and they were perfect. The French Toast was fabulous with the homemade syrup almost like a brown butter taste. I like my eggs over medium and many places they never come out that way....this time they did!!! And the bacon was perfect. Had a bite of the Mannito Burrito and also delicious with the house made salsa. The restaurant is cute inside. Cozy and casual. Great vibe to the restaurant. Service was A+ and I can't wait to go back and try their dinner menu.

This restaurant has a limited window for when they're open; they close at 2:00. On the weekends, they don't serve lunch. We were there on a Saturday, and arrived at 11:00 AM. We were given a breakfast menu, and when we asked for the lunch menu, we were told they don't serve lunch on the weekends. We ordered cocktails, and one person in our party asked for a mimosa, and wanted to trade gin for the vodka; they had several different types of gin, but did not have Hendricks, which is the gin they use in one of their signature drinks...not overly impressed. The server was very friendly, however. I had an omelet, but didn't receive all of the condiments the menu said came with it. Two people in our group had the Monte Cristo, and said it was very good.

The best omelette I have ever had and I am old AF! Seriously, the salsa, which is made in house, is the perfect spice level but the flavor, dear god the flavor is outstanding. Portion size is on point too, I am not a huge fan of way to much food for breakfast which is fine for some I am sure, but this was the perfect portion size for me. Perfectly filling, excellent aftertaste of a spicy breakfast. Staff was insanely polite and friendly and attentive. Coffee, yeah they have better coffee then 90 percent of the other places. Decor is cool, animal pics everywhere, warm inviting ambiance. Blueberry pancakes get a double thumbs up from our munchkin. Lastly, I am not exaggerating about how good this omelette was, it is crazy good!!!!!
