You can tell this place has soul. My friend found it for us as a fun casual dinner our last night in town. The food was exactly what we were looking for. Home cooked feeling. Ambiance was great. Nothing fancy about it and for sure the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had!!! Gumbo was amazing too. The portions were insane. It was such a shame I couldn’t finish it all!
All my years of living here and this was the very first time I've been to Mandina's. Oh, what I've been missing out all these years! The food was amazing and so was the service! Our waiter, Patrick was a pleasure to have, serving us, and his suggestions of what to order, were right on cue. Everything he suggested was amazing! The other servers were punctual and kept out table clear. Overall excellent service! We will definitely be coming back! Everything was top knotch!
Very generous portion sizes, attentive staff, and wholesome food. Lots of fried options. Too many choices, will have to come back to try some more.
Mandina’s Restaurant on Canal Street has been an institution in New Orleans as long as I can remember. The old-school Italian and creole dishes are some of the best around. This is a very casual environment with great service. Be sure to come hungry as the portions are huge.
Very delicious creole-style Italian restaurant which is very popular among local people. We waited for 30 minutes this month as well as last August. It was worth dining out in using streetcar rather than visiting restaurants for tourists in french quarter.
If I could give all a 0 I would service was absolutely horrible first I order a chef salad but it also had Swiss cheese anchovies and shrimp I’m allergic to seafood she told me the chef won’t make my salad like that then I ordered my one year old a burger and they brought it out raw then asked them to remake and they brought me out the SAME THING like she dosent know what well done means, she wears a blue wrap on her head I would leave her nothing she is also VERY rude. I asked her to take the burger off because she couldn’t do it correctly and she never let me order my salad. So me an my daughter sat there and starved while my grandmother ate she also never gave me a straw or silverware and scolded us the whole time we were ordering and after ordering my daughters food she took my menu even though I was not finished ordering. Also asked for no tomato on the burger before cutting into it because when I asked for up cook it seemed they just seared the part that was cut, so they put something on the grill that my fingers were all over. Enjoy
We want seafood when visiting New Orleans and French bread. And the family restaurant didn't disappoint. There were plenty of options and huge portions. Great service and staff all helping to keep customers coming back. Try the bread pudding. Parking available and a few minutes from Downtown.
Love this place. Great food and excellent service. Must try the crab claws. Portions are big. We'll definitely eat here again.

I haven't been here in over 10 years, but it was still just as good or better. The swamp fries were amazing. I meant to take a picture, but we ate them way too fast. I got the special, which was the fried catfish with seafood sauce and mac-n-cheese.
What a great place to have great food while in the Bourbon Street/French Quarter area! I had the Louisiana Crawfish bread as a starter and the Taste of New Orleans for my main. Both delicious! The prices are a little cheaper than what you would get f
That was the first time I tried alligator meat. It was way better than it sounds...it tastes more like chicken. And the grilled oysters were the best I have ever had in the US. I don't like raw ones (I didn't order here) and these creamy ones are rea
Went to several Poboy spots during our stay, but this one was by far the best when it came to flavor! The ones with gumbo or gravy were hearty and full of spices. I personally got one with alligator and it was good! A bit dry and could have a little
