Mandarin Wong Chinese Restaurant - Chinese restaurant in Newhall - 23758 Lyons Ave, USA

With so many generic Chinese Food restaurants all over town...all over every town really, we found Mandarin Wong, albeit in a mostly non-descript atmosphere, to be among the better options in terms of the actual food! They had plenty for vegetarians including "Lemon Tofu" which we hadn't had any kind of version of since before we were vegetarians. It tasted just like we remembered, albeit with tofu instead of chicken or beef. We also had veggie egg rolls (good), and Fried Rice as an upgrade to the rice that came with the food we ordered. (It's a basic fried rice with no vegetables in it but it tasted good.) My wife was happy with her "Buddha's Feast" which came with a generous amount of tofu and vegetables, and the egg flower soup she ordered was swimming with a generous amount of eggs and tasted good too. We appreciate a place that has many vegetarian options and thought, among the vast array of Chinese Food options nearby or anywhere, Mandarin Wong is a good go-to for basic Chinese food offerings that we would happily try again.

One of my very favorite restaurants! Our family used to go there at least once a week,starting back when the lunch specials were $4.55. I still think of it fondly even though we have moved out of state. I miss going there very much. It was a regular thing for our family! We got to know a lot of people there. The staff was always super friendly

This place was pretty good! We ordered beef and broccoli, Mongolian beef, chicken lo mein and potstickers. It was fresh and flavorful. Not the most amazing Chinese food I’ve had but it was a good local spot. We’ll be going back. Due to Covid, they were only doing carry out.

So delicious! We had steamed potstickers, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken and curry with rice. The dinner special is such a great deal and the staff are all very friendly. Would definitely visit again, a real diamond in the rough

First time at this restaurant. After going to the post office, I noticed the restaurant and I thought I’d check it out. Great lunch menu choices. Very reasonably priced and delicious. I was told it would take 10 minutes, and I wasn’t even there that long. Excellent! I will be back.!

Delicious food, and they have good vegetarian options. You get a lot of food for a really great price.

This was my first time here and it was bomb!!! The service was great and the food was most delicious! The flavors are bold and authentic. Come here for the small town feel where all the people that walk in know someone there by name. If you feel like authentic Chinese food come here and take a trip!
