We enjoyed our Sunday lunch. I had the veggies plate with black-eye peas and collards and it was delicious. My pops ordered fish and shrimp a little small but he said it was excellent. Husband ordered chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and okra and he enjoyed it we had the most delicious pecan pie and banana pudding. Great Sunday meal and a solid 4 to 4 1/2

It has been on the radar to try for several years and we finally had the chance. We should have waited several more years. The sweet potato biscuits lacked sweet potato. Chicken tenders weren’t seasoned. The yams looked like they came from the can and tasted like they were doctored up. Limas were bland. Biscuits hard. I could go on. The best thing about our meal was the waitress!!!

Highly recommend this restaurant. Homemade, comfort, country, delicious food! The servers was excellent. We had a variety of food on our plate and all of it was delicious. The decorations was so calm and welcomed. You definitely cannot go wrong eating here!!

Our party had: Appetizers- Fried veggie appetizers, which were hot and excellent; sweet potato biscuits, which were not hot/warm and were not baked/made, or, topped with butter. Entrees- fried steak, Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes/gravy and turnip greens, which all were barely warm but tasty; Stew beef with rice, (eater said was not seasoned) and the beef gravy was very starchy; ribs and fried chicken (both eaters stated were good); Grilled cheese and fries (eater said was good). Deserts- We all tasted each others deserts. Eater did not like the Sweet potato pie and Peach cobbler was okay…but if both were made with butter, they would’ve been better, perhaps; Chocolate cake was good: Chocolate pecan pie was scrumptious; Banana pudding was okay. Ice cream was good, per the kiddos. Waitress was attentive.Brought out condiments before we could ask👍🏿. Very friendly staff. Overall, very good meal experience for the group of picky adults and kiddos. BTW, the restroom was CLEAN. I’ve only experienced clean restrooms in Chapel Hill restaurants at the Carolina Inn, and Stoney River…

I was totally disappointed. The prices were outrageous. I ordered chicken and waffles, that came with two sides, the sides did not even make sense. The chicken strips looked like they took one strip from a baby chic and cut it in three pieces. I had the waiter ask if they would substitute a desert for the sides. As I expected, he came back and said the answer was no. The meal was $26.02. They should have subtracted $26.00, and that still wouldn't have been enough for me to want to go back again. The only positive thing I can say is the waiter was excellent.

I must say I received several recommendations to eat here. I was traveling so this was an intentional destination stop. I arrived in time for lunch. The menu was very pricey. I ordered chicken and waffles with a drink. The total was $26.04. It would have been more if I used my card. They paired the chicken and waffles with two side items that I did not care eat with the waffle. I asked for wings and I received two small wings. The chicken was not the best I have ever had nor was the portion size comparable to the price I paid. I can say that I will not be a repeat customer nor will I recommend it to any of my friends. Alex, our waiter was very nice and he took very good care in serving our table. Alex was the highlight of the experience.

The food was terrible. I ordered a White meat plate. The chicken wing was the size of my thumb! There was one little spoonful of gravy on my mashed potatoes. It was terrible. The pot pie was awful. It wasn’t even a pot pie. It was some filling with a biscuit topping on top that is not a pot pie….too expensive I got robbed. The chicken looked and tasted like it was fried 7 hours prior. The chicken was black. I would not recommend this place to anybody total waste of money.

We went as a group yesterday evening and loved our experience. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone loved what they got (including our vegetarian). I had the chicken livers which were cooked perfectly. At the end we had strawberry shortcake which was divine and hands down the best I've ever had. The staff was super friendly and kind. Overall an excellent experience and we can't wait to return next time we are on town!
