So delicious that we came here twice! The pineapple ice cream bowl was unique, and absolutely worth getting once for the experience - but it’s a significant up charge. Our whole group dearly loved the ube ice cream and went with simple bowls on our second trip. They offered both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff (especially Zeida) were very helpful. Will definitely come again the next time we’re in Hilo.
Great treats! There’s lots of photos all over the walls but it’s hard to choose an option of the menu. The menu doesn’t have many photos and I wanted the works so I had a hard time picking one. I had to point at one on the wall that looked good. We got an amazing treat to share. Our ice cream in a dish $14 or $16 tasted so refreshing on a sunshiny Hawaiian day. Homemade soft serve with granola and fresh fruit with an umbrella on top. Service was good as well. There was only one guy working while we were there.
The cold brew coffee is very good, but the food is boring. It looks way different then the pictures. We got a acai bowl in a pineapple. There is barely fruit on it. Its just acai and syrup. Would not recommend this, it is the worst we had compared to Ohau and Kauai. Dont go her for the food, but go here for the coffee’s, because that is great!
Little local shop that sells smoothies, açaí bowls, ice cream, and cold brews. We got the ube coconut and the Hawaiian Mac daddy. Ube coconut had a good subtle taste of ube. Didn’t taste chalky or super sweet, just enough to get its flavor in. The Mac nut coconut has both and was also subtle. Flavor wise they both just are there, nothing over powering. Aside from that, my only gripe is the cup was 75% full of ice prior to the cold brew. Dunno if it’s because it’s meant to water down because it’s concentrated but the cold brew didn’t feel that strong to begin with.
Best açaí bowl I’ve ever had. I tried so many açaí bowls on the big island and in Kauai and this one was by far my favorite. The consistency was incredible!! My husband loved his smoothie as well. Highly recommend.
We were excited to get acai bowls. We were the last of our group and were told the device that makes the acai stopped working, which is fine, stuff happens. They asked if we wanted soft serve instead, we said we prefer a refund. But we were given a bowl with mostly granula and barely any acai. (Pictures attached) When I asked if we could get more acai, they topped it off with acai flavored soft serve! Not one word of acknowledgement. Negative experience for us for the attitude, the malfunction is just life and would've been perfectly fine.
Loved ube soft serve the best, tried passionfruit topped with fresh pineapple it was so refreshing. The bowl was almost too cute to eat.
Disappointed. 😢 Saw all the hype on Instagram and it looked nothing like the photos, nor did the taste blow my socks off (and I saw the difference between the ones with and w/o soft serve on top - still does not compare). I was expecting a wow factor and there was nothing. The fruit was decent, clearly had been chopped fresh as we saw it in containers, but the pineapple didn’t actually taste fresh. There was a weird spice to the bowl that we couldn’t place. Like a nutmeg or almost like a hot honey. It would have been so much better without whatever that was. The shop itself is cute, and it definitely looks like the family works hard. Lots of creative ideas. Maybe the soft serve cones are better? Just sad to say there was nothing special about this açaí bowl.
