MainStay Suites Bismarck - Extended stay hotel in Bismarck - 2507 N 9th St, USA

Called before hand to see if they had ovens in the room so we could bake our own pizza, they said yes... there were no ovens! Rooms were dirty. Pieces of tile in the bathroom broken and propped up against the wall. When we checked in, one of the staff was on her phone the entire time using very inappropriate language. We stayed to swim but ended up not staying in our room because of the conditions in the room.

We have stayed here before and did again. But last time they had free breakfast and dont tell you until you arrive that they no longer do. I would never pay this much for a hotel without free breakfast. The pool is gross. Algea or mold?

I was planning to stay here for an extended period (several weeks) as I am on a short term contract in the area. The first problem is we came in a day after a significant snow fall. There was several inches of snow in the parking lot and sidewalks. We got our car stuck in the snow and it was hard to get it out. We asked when they would plow the parking lot and shovel the sidewalks and they said it will happen soon, at least by that night. It did not happen for a full 36 hours. Of note all adjacent properties and most properties in Bismarck were plowed. It took them 2 days after a major snow storm to plow their parking lot, it was slippery to walk and we had to park at an adjacent property and walk in. Second the room was not well taken care of. There were rips in the chairs, multiple dings on the walls , mud on the door and the fan for the heater did not work and the hallways had garbage bags stacked in them waiting for housekeeping which did not come very often. Third my husbands expensive camera equipment was stolen. He left the bag in the lobby on accident but when he went to retrieve it, it was gone. The manager stated the cameras do not record and there is no one monitoring the camera's so there was no way to see what happened and no one at the front desk new or apparently witnessed anything. This did not feel very safe. We made reservations elsewhere and moved as soon as we could. I recommend avoiding this hotel, it feels as if they are having financial difficulties as well as poor management issues. It frankly is not safe to stay at.

This hotel needs major renovation and cleaning. My family cut our stay short and went to another hotel because of the conditions of the rooms. There was dried food on the walls of the kitchen and refrigerator. Large stains, maybe food, on the sofa and chair. The doors and other high traffic touch surfaces looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. It was really gross. There was water damage or something that had ruined the floor in the kitchen, it would actually be dangerous for someone with balance issues like elderly. The staff were nice but there's only so much they can do. They need more cleaning staff clearly. The girl at the desk was very nice. ff

Poor review. Lack of cleanliness to rooms. Upon arrival, there was an artificial nail on the floor in the middle of the room. The lock on the door look like it had been broken off then poorly screwed on. When we pulled out the hide a bed, the was a half full pepsi bottle under it and blood stains on the mattress. There was a bra and panties behind the tv stand. This hotel is in very poor shape. We refuse to stay again.

Spiders in my bed. Bed looked like a sway backed mule. Cancelled a stay due to work changes and was told I would be refunded but it didn’t happen. Stay away.

Pros -full sized fridge -water slides -decent location Cons -cleanliness in pool rooms -bad room layout/no amenities -leaking ceiling -straight up lie about serving breakfast Rooms were small, and very poorly laid out. They crammed a table and desk into the entry hallway, but they were basically un- usable. The (small) TV was crammed in between the sofa and bed, so you didn't have a good view of the screen unless you were walking in the door. The kitchenette was mostly aweful. Tiny sink, no silverware-in the room or at the front desk, we were told to go to the other connected hotel for them. The full size fridge was nice though. The bathroom was fine, except for the water leaking out of the ceiling, that was great. Oh, and no breakfast. The website says breakfast, the signs still hanging on the doors say breakfast. But nope. They added kitchenettes to the room so do it yourself, with the one pot and non matching lid they gave us, and no utensils. As for the pool......the pools were nice, water clean, pH balanced....however they are short staffed and cleaning around the edges of the rooms, and under the slides, or the steps up the slides was clearly low on the priority list.....so that was a little skeevy. Long story short, for the price, just go somewhere else, nothing but disappointment here.

Very nice place to stay for the price. Full kitchen area. Very nice beds, exercise room, pool area. Will stay there again if needed. Office staff was very helpful. Has coffee pots in each room.
