We stopped here to pick up some flyers about the solar system. You can see Pluto here. Barbara was the lady we spoke with. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. This is also a coop store. They also have food available.
Why did they move. It is not a convenient location anymore if you are continuing to rt 1 north. A perfect location before with a nice picnic area. Very sad they moved. It is now difficult to find.

The lady was very nice and provided us with all necessary information. We enjoyed driving through the solar system all the way to Presque Isle.

We stopped at this rest area because I needed a little walk to stretch from recent hip surgery. The bathroom was nice and clean. However, having the handicap bars set very high and putting a low toilet in the bathroom makes it very difficult to get up and down and more so, very dangerous for me as a recent hip surgery patient. I am sure I was not able to maintain the 90 degree safety angle I have been told not to break. Not only that but the hand dryers were about 6-8 feet behind the sinks instead of to the side of the sinks. Remember, I am walking with a walker right now and not very stable. I had to push my walker with dripping wet hands to the hand dryers. The floor in the bathroom was also sloped for easier cleaning. I understand that but shouldn't those slopes in the floor somehow be pointed out? I ask any and all businesses, rest areas, etc. to please step back and take a look at your restrooms as if you were in my shoes. Let's make our Maine restrooms safe for everyone!
Nice place, clean and the staff was very helpful
I stopped here on two different days. It is very quiet and not busy either day. There are lots of brochures inside for a wide variety of attractions in the area. Bathrooms are clean. Free WiFi. Lots of parking and picnic tables available. Pine trees for shade and areas to stretch
