We love the Lobster Festival. Parking at the school and busses were easy and quick. The best lobster, because they cook so many. Reasonable prices. And lovely crafts and other activities.
I have never been and went to this traditional event. Let me start by saying lines. There are long lines. Expensive. It is expensive. Disappointing. I'll get into that.
This event is on the water in Rockport. Rockport is a beautiful town. This event is family friendly, but it's crowded. There are a variety of craft tents and artists here. There are a couple of tents for adult beverages as you are not permitted to walk with alcohol through the venue.
Lobster. There's are thousands of lobster dinners. $29.95 for a 1 1/2 pound lobster with coleslaw and a piece of over boiled corn on the cob. Two lobsters go for $49.95. Lobster roles are $20. This event thrives from the lobster industry. Standing in the hot sun in line for 30 minutes to get a $30 lobster on a paper plate in a self-serve community picnic setup is, in short, a rip-off. I can be served in an air-conditioned restaurant with better sides at that price or buy a lobster at Hannaford $7.99 a pound. I bought a cup of fish chowder for $12. Rip off. It had a couple of flakes of fish. Very disappointing. I essentially had a cup of chowder cream. I found that these high prices were geared towards tourists and not really Mainers. If you enjoy a carnival atmosphere, that's great. But I was disappointed in the low quality and the high prices.
Honestly very underwhelming there wasent a ton of vendors or alot of things to do affter your done eating the music wasent bad but it dident really set the right vibes also on top of that your not alowed to walk around with adult drinks and within an hour or two me and my fiance just wanted to leave because we were bored. Once we were done with the festival affter a couple hours on the way there we drove through the town of camden we ended up there and spent the rest of our visit to maine there very nice town good food and lots of things to do. Honestly i would skip the lobster festival and stop in camden and then make your way up to bar harbour very nice towns and good hiking or mountain biking in both with amazing food and vibes
Festival celebrates all things lobster. Great food, terrific entertainment, a great opportunity to showcase Rockland, ME.
Really enjoyed our experience today at the Lobster Festival, everyone was so pleasant! We did each have a Single Lobster dinner, and the Lobster was fantastic! Plump, juicy & beautiful flavor! The Cole Slaw was crisp and fresh, the corn was too starchy for me, so I only took a few bites. The Blueberry Cobbler had almost no cobbler, and the dish was overpowered by clove. After two bites, that went into the trash, a waste of $5. Wish we'd gotten two lobsters each, they were amazing. Quite a nice array of vendors, too, along with petting zoo, artisans and local performers on the stages. Parking with free shuttles and no admission fee, what's not to love?
This was our first trip ever to Maine. We enjoyed our visit. Went the first day for the new “Queen/Princess Coronation”. It was nice, but apparently someone somewhere had gone “woke” and they changed from the “royalty” titles to “Delegate”…ridiculous! Lobster was in abundance, but very expensive! We did enjoy the Lobster Mac n Cheese, and the Lobster Bisque however. The weather was great! Second day we went mainly for the event called “Steins n Vines”…a wine and beer tasting for which we had purchased tickets prior to the trip. That was fun meeting people and tasting the local vintages and brews.
Some we liked and some not so much, “Dragonfly Wines” were wonderful, along with a couple other beer/wine makers.
Overall, the Fest was smaller than expected and not as organized as it should’ve been since it was their 76th year of the Lobster Fest. Food was good tho! I also enjoyed the “Bacon on a Stick”…(2) actually. With 76 years under their belt and the the pandemic in the rear-view, maybe next year will be bigger, better, more organized, and less “woke”!
The best thing I've done this Summer! Great time with something for everyone and all ages. Crafts and vendor tents, rides, games, food, cooking contests and of course the best lobster on the planet!!! A Must do for friends and family. I will be back!!
A great festival selling all sorts of goods. Wish they did more to inform people about lobsters. The nice thing here is that they have the decency to post food prices online well ahead of time, so nobody is getting ripped off.
The only reason we come to Rockland, is to eat Wasses Hot Dogs! Please remember to bring cash as they don't accept cards. We found this out recently, as after we ordered and handed her our debit card, she casually slides it back and says we don't tak
Incredible selection of fresh seafood. We got a 3.5lb lobster and it was one of the sweetest and tender I've ever had.
Also got 3 of their 4 oyster options, they were also delicious, just wish they sold mignonette!
Came here after seeing the restaurant on No Reservations. It was the ideal restaurant for our honeymoon. Drove up from Portland, Me and it was well worth it. Entrees, appetizers and desserts were fantastic. The Pork Chop was the best Pork Chop I've e
Hazel's Take-Out is a must visit! My family and I stopped by on our way up the coast. I had their Lobster Melt, the rest got the fried clams and Hazel's Haddock Reuben. The Lobster Melt is delicious, stuffed with lobster, and not too strong on the ma
Great food, wonderful staff and service. Their soups were fantastic!! Iâm a soup nut and have to say that their broccoli cheese soup was one of the best Iâve ever had; their fish stew was no slouch either! Sandwiches were freshly made and delicio
Delicious surprise, most restaurant in Maine taste amazing but Sammyâs Deluxe had really unique flavor. Mushroom is asta and halibut dish with dandelion were out of expectation but so delicious. Smoke haddock and alewife is also recommended.
Swung by to pick up a bag of coffee beans (beans, not ground) to keep at the house. I only can speak for the coffee and it was great! Excellent bag of beans, bright and flavorful which I love. Tasted great making it at home on the Aeropress. Would de
Iâm so impressed with this place! The chef made magic happen for every dish she produced in that small kitchen. I absolutely loved the quality and composition of the recipes. All the protein was sourced locally and even the whipping cream was whipp
