Maine Idyll Motor Court - Indoor lodging in Freeport - 1411 US-1, USA

The motor court is located just 5 minutes outside Freeport center and a quick drive away. The welcome service was extremely welcoming and even had some cute birds. While we knew what we were getting ourselves into (a cabin in the woods), the rooms were a bit scary for us. Our cabin came with a little kitchenette, 2 queen beds, and a nice table with bathroom. There was even a grill outside! Everything was cute but as we stayed we started to notice the details. There were stains on our blankets. The sheets didn’t seem the cleanest. The bathroom had mold growing all throughout it (roof plus door). While I’m happy we found a quick place to stay for the night for cheap, it was certainly an interesting experience.

Perfect for our short visit in the Freeport area. Everything we needed. Kitchenette, hot shower, and super clean! Tucked in the trees and pet friendly. Great hosts, and an historical personal touch in our cottage. Highly recommended! I don’t understand any negative feedback about this court… we’ve been staying in cabins/cottages for over 40 years. Canada, New England, etc. Cleanest we’ve ever stayed in.

Exactly what we expected! Our cabin was well maintained and comfortable! We were happy to have stayed here and to have learn some of the history of the cottages. It was a perfect stay for exploring the Freeport area for a couple days and we would definately stay again if ever in the area! Thanks for maintaining this piece of history! As others have stated, if you are looking for something with bathrobes and slippers... keep looking.

Charming and wonderful. My husband and I felt like we were living in the fifties and I mean this in the best way possible. We had cabin 9, which is made up of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. There’s a fireplace in one of the bedrooms that I would have loved to use but, alas, the temperatures were in the high eighties! Speaking of that, there was a very modern ductless air conditioner in the kitchen that cooked the place down quite nicely. The place was clean, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is the water pressure in the shower wasn’t very good. I wish I could give 4.5. All in all, I can’t wait to stay there again next time we’re in Maine!

Such a cute place! As others have said, it ain't' the Ritz - but who wants that when you're travelling thru cozy Maine back roads? Super polite gentleman at the front desk, and the room was spotless. We even called Dominos and had a pizza delivered. Family owned place, 3rd generation owners. 10/10, would absolutely stay here again.

Not a great experience overall. While the location is great, just a few minutes drive to the Main Street in Freeport, we were severely disappointed to find that the bed sheets clearly weren’t clean. There were lots of hairs and other dust all over the sheets when we pulled them back. It was late so we just had to sleep there. Ended up putting our own towels down to sleep.

The cabin we stayed in was clean and comfortable but the true highlight is the staff! Our little one left a small bear behind and was distraught that evening when we got home. Management found the bear and is mailing it back to us! We are so grateful and our little one is over the moon to be reunited with “Chocolate Bear!” Thank you for a wonderful stay and incredible kindness!

So glad that we found this place! We stayed for a night and it was great. Cute little cabin with everything we needed. They even accommodated a late check in for us due to a flight delay. We will be back for sure!
