Absolutely beautiful! I hiked Goose Eye, the river along the trail was truly unique and the views were spectacular
Wild, scenic, remote. Some of the best swimming holes along the east side of Goose Eye that I've ever seen.
The road across the bridge has big holes, so you will bottom out if you have a low vehicle. Needs to be filled. Jumping area isn't real big so gets crowded fast.
This could be the greatest swimming hole I have ever been to. It is so much fun. We brought a few families here and had a great time. You need to be young and nimble to get in and out, and there's not an easily accessible viewing area.
This section of the AT (Carlo Col to Old Speck Mountain) is one of the most fun, challenging, rewarding and beautiful hikes I've been on in years. It rivals several hikes I've done in Colorado and Alaska. The ridge from Goose Eye to the South Peak gives incredible views to the West, with Adams and Washington looming in the distance. Mahoosuc Notch was a mile of technical scrambles over massive car to garage size boulders. And then Old Speck Mountain has a lookout tower on which you are rewarded with a spectacular 360 view for a good 20-30 miles. I can't wait to get back up there!
I rarely give 5 stars. Frenchman's Hole deserves it!
Beautiful mountain stream. Perhaps a tad chilly for swimming unless you're brave, but it creates a beautiful gorge if you hike up the stream for half a mile or so.
This patch of Maine forest is great for hiking and views. It's close to Bethel, so if you're staying anywhere near there, be sure to check it out.

Amazing resort at a very reasonable price. The had a huge variety of trails and multiple lodges. Would highly recommend whether it's your 1st time or your 100th.
Went to a beer pairing dinner on Saturday night at the top lodge. Absolutley delicious. Took the Gondola up, a big storm started, big hail dropped so we were shuttled down the mountain in a shuttle bus, what a bumpy ride, the people in the shuttle st
