It was my first time visiting a plantation so this was quite nice. Weather was warm so it was nice to see all of the flowers when taking pictures. They have two types of tours. The basic admission for like $35 for an adult and then the basic admission plus the house tour for $47 for an adult. We only did the basic admission. Basic admission gives you access to public gardens, Aubudon Swamp Garden and boardwalk, etc. I loved seeing the peacocks walking around. Employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. It wasn’t busy when we went.

A beautiful old world plantation garden. The many acres of the gardens offer many photo opportunities, including the long white bridge and the bamboo garden. There is also a little zoo area with several cool animals to visit with.

Beautiful gardens and worth the visit on fresh day, with a chance to see alligators during train ride. From slavery to freedom tour was disappointing by our opinion. It was mostly self tour with 20 minutes story while you have to sit in the pavilion. Guide was rude with kids (not mine but it felt wrong), taking into account that even our kids were bored and didn’t want to sit calmly who are big fun’s of any kid of excursion.

Very beautiful, and definitely worth visiting! We had the honor of meeting Joe our tour guide on Slavery to Freedom at this plantation, and who gave us a wonderful history lesson about slavery in South Carolina. He is a Blackman who is very passionate about sharing this history with all, and very captivating.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. To me, Magnolia is a must-see plantation because of the extensive naturalist gardens. The house and the stuff inside are not too special. The mansions downtown are much more impressive. I did all of the tours. It is a bit more expensive than the other plantations since each tour is not included. The slavery tour was the most interesting to me. The nature train was nice because we got to see more of the swamps than on foot, but we didn't see anything other than the swamps that was too interesting. Also, I loved the little area with all of the animals! The spiced cider at the café was delicious.

Nice grounds with an interesting history. We just bought tickets for the garden and joined the complimentary „from slavery to freedom“ tour. All in all the two of us stayed about 90 minutes on the grounds, spent almost 70 dollars (including tip for the tour) and could not even get into the main house (would have been another 15 bucks per person). Making that much money with such a topic does not seem right to me.

I have been coming here for 10 years. I love it. I used to eat a handful of mushrooms and bring my dog out and have the best meditations. Now I attend sober and enjoy the farm animals. The workers are friendly. The gardens are ample. I loved the swamp walk bc I grew up on a swamp. The history y’all, not my favorite subject, but it’s there. They have a bamboo garden that is so peaceful. We saw about 25 gators during our trip.

We definitely liked our walk around the gardens (and the swamp walk). I wish there had been better signage when walking the gardens. I feel like we missed some things because we didn’t really know where we needed to go next. The app, which contained a map, was not very useful. A great experience nevertheless!
