I brought my damaged hard drive in to see if they could recover any of the data after being told by the Geek Squad that they were damaged beyond repair, but recommended me to Magic Data Recovery. They were able to restore all of my data and did so quickly. Henry was very helpful and communicative. I brought the hard drive in to their Sherman oaks location. Highly recommend MAGIC DATA :)
Made me drive down for no reason, did not seem comfortable with Mac hardware repairs, even though on the phone they made it seem fine and I was willing to pay the $65 inspection fee, which if they didn’t want to fix it then they could have made a quick buck off of me so that’s the only reason I gave it a 2 stars. Really you’re better off taking it into the parent company to get your computer fixed, and the person there was a know-it-all unless it was with customer service/knowing hardware repairs.
Mike is not only a a magician when it comes to IT and technology. He is truly an honorable and good human being. I brought in a laptop that I thought was totally destroyed. Had information from numerous of my businesses along with years of family files. Not only was he able to recover the hard drive. He held onto it and safeguarded it and continued reaching out to me for over a year until I could come pick it up after dealing with some health issues. I'm forever grateful, and would never use anyone else in the greater los angeles area for my IT and computer needs.
Found these guys online. They were able to recover data from an old hard drive with important client data on it! Well trusted and quick thorough service ! Will go back !
In the past, I've muddled through computer repairs on my own with a lot of patience and limited knowledge. When the PC I use for my freelance business wouldn't boot up recently, I bit the bullet and brought it in to Mike. I really didn't want to replace the computer and reinstall everything, which would have been the less expensive option but a lot more headache. Mike was able to diagnose that the 11-year-old legacy motherboard and processor had failed, find an exact replacement, have it shipped out and get me back up and running within a week. Being down for a week was hard but the result was worth it. A few days later (of course) my other computer, the laptop, wouldn't boot up. The hard drive had begun to fail. I brought it to Mike who was able to repair the drive, clone it to a new solid state drive and have it back to me the following day running faster than ever. I'm very cost-conscious. If I can manage a repair on my own, I usually do. But there are times when hiring an expert just makes more sense. Mike's repair prices are not bargain basement, but certainly fair for his extensive IT knowledge and kind customer service.
We all know the crashing of a drive can feel as traumatic as a breakup.. the denial.. the tears.. the what to do next.. So seeking out a savior is a vital and challenging process. They have to act as therapist as well as technician and sorcerer. The team at Magic Data Recovery are just those miracle workers. They comforted me, educated me in a way that even this tech savvy dude found revelatory and ultimately, saved my drive. All 5 Gigs worth. I cant thank them enough for their patience and care. And miracle work. You all rock. Go to them if data tragedy befalls. They're the best.
