Maggio's Wood Fired Pizza - Pizza restaurant in Wauwatosa - 7212 W North Ave, USA

We got the cheese bread and spicy italian pizza. Both were incredibly tasty and filling and the crust was perfect. It was worth the drive from Merton!

First, the servers were AMAZINGLY friendly! I love it! It's not a full service restaurant, but rather you order at the front, then take a number and they'll bring the food out to you. Kinda like Culver's. But the gal at the counter was definitely more friendly and helpful than the servers I talk to at Culver's. Super helpful as we were navigating through the menu, and explained anything that I was curious about. The guys firing up the oven were mindful of my camera itchy fingers and moved stuff out of the way for me to get nicer shots of the oven, and I didn't have to ask! The server who brought out the food for us, literally took 1 minute after we sat down to bring out the appetizer meatballs and wine. So overall, I couldn't be happier with the service we received here. food: The meatballs are the same price as the meatball sandwich, but the sandwich comes with 3 meatballs, and the appetizer comes with 4. The bread for the sandwich is made in-house per what the gal at the counter told me. I was happy with 4 meatballs as I'm on the keto diet. The meatball was quite delicious, and the tomato sauce was a tad on the salty side the way I was having it, but I think if you dunk some of their pizza crust or garlic knots in it, it would be perfect. The fig and prosciutto pizza - good but skip if you're into savory and don't like sweet in your pizza. The combination of sweet and salty was just right in my mouth, but hubby thought it was too sweet for his tastebuds. Overall, the place had a friendly vibe, food was good, and felt very open and airy. It's also quite family-friendly, and even has a little station for kids to make their own plastic pizza.

Fun pizza joint with good pizza. The crust is nice and chewy and the ingredients are awesome! Tuesdays are date night,so stop in for a couple pies and a bottle of wine!

Delicious! Gluten-free crust option! Pizza was so good - I got the prosciutto fig. The interior is also so cute with a lovely gallery wall and gorgeous seating area. Perfect little neighborhood date.

We had the meatballs, a pepperoni pizza, a margherita pizza, a prosciutto and fig pizza, and the pistachio gelato - everything was phenomenal. The sauce was slightly tangy, which was unexpected but very good. Absolutely no complaints and we will definitely be back!

Just happen to pop in after spending the weekend in downtown Milwaukee. We were headed home and wanted to eat before getting on the road. Maggio's was 14 minutes from downtown. The pizza was delicious and the Caesar salad was terrific. The place was warm and cozy, especially by the wood burning stove. This little gem is worth the drive.

Family friendly place with great food. We dined in during their official opening weekend and it was busy!! Place is clean and lots of seating. Nicely decorated. We waited about 45 minutes for our food, but expected that as it was opening weekend. We ordered pizzas, the meatballs, and the garlic knots. Everything was super good! My only suggestion to enhance the place even more would be to add some sound boards or something to help with the noise when super busy, but it was not a big deal. Great addition to the neighborhood! We will be back.

Amazing pizza, loved the meatballs, can't say no to gelato. Plus the atmosphere is really pleasant and there's a small play area for kids with wooden pizza toys. I don't live locally but, if I did, I would be a regular. Full disclosure, I am the owner's sister which certainly gives me a little biased (although I'd still give it the same review). But I have seen this dream come to life after MANY years of careful thought and hard work. There is a lot of love put into this place. It was built on a passion for food, family and togetherness. I know for certain that my brother's hard work ethic will only make the place even better as the years go on. The community is luck to have a place and people like this in the neighborhood.
