The renovations are darling. The lobby, pool, common areas are gorgeous! Went to the beach around noon and there were still chairs available on the beach! Providing chairs and umbrellas are a wonderful perk, thank you! We stayed in the ocean tower. Two room suite, king bedroom and a pull out sofa in the other. Our biggest complaint was the pull out sofa. The springs in the mattress are very noticeable and made it very uncomfortable. We asked for a mattress topper or extra blankets to pad it. We never received it but fortunately we brought blankets so padded it up with our own. Had a plumbing issue, but they were able to fix it before we headed to bed. Loved the new traditions we created at Wildwood this trip and hope to come back next season!
We had a very positive stay at the ocean tower! We have been coming to wildwood for years now. Most of the places to stay are motels. The Madison is also a motel, but it is a clean and updated one with lots of unique features: free shuttle to the boardwalk, free beach chairs and umbrellas that are set up for you, and an updated lounge area by the pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the managers (especially Justin) are attentive and responsive. The rooms are clean and spacious. It is not a five star hotel, but it is also not advertised as such. There are a few things that could be improved upon, like better lighting in the rooms and a better coffee maker. Overall though, we had a great time and will definitely stay here again!
I recently stayed at the Madison Resort for two nights and had the loveliest time! After a horrible experience with a filthy hotel on my family vacation last year, my top priority when looking for a place to stay was cleanliness. After much research, this resort had the most reviews mentioning cleanliness, and I was not disappointed. The resort is beautiful, spotless, and right on the most beautiful, clean beach. It's also on a quiet street with a walking path directly across from the hotel with nice playgrounds and a splash pad which my children really enjoyed. We're looking forward to coming back and enjoying a longer trip next year!
Madison resort Wildwood crest is a quaint little resort right on the beach with full service towels and even beach chairs, the staff is very nice and friendly. There are little fire pits outside by the pool area for the evening which was a perfect way to end the night. The pool is nice is bigger than it seems. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are small but perfect for what you need and the price is not bad for the Jersey shore for a weekend or weekday. Cape May is a 20 minute drive with many great restaurants.
The "Bads" and the "Goods" of the Tower building: |Bads: Not very clean. Our white socks were dark gray on the bottoms. Mattresses have no mattress protectors, just a thin fitted sheet. So, if something happened on that mattress, the next guest is essentially sleeping on it. Paint badly chipping in bathroom because painters obviously painted over damp spackle. No washcloths provided so bring your own. Water pressure is non existant. Showers lasted about an hour if person was shampooing their hair.||Goods: Location provides spectacular views. Vinyl restaurant is wonderful. We had a fantastic breakfast! Large pool and hot tub, nice and clean. No issues with availability of poolside towels.||Overall, I liked it. I'll give them a pass on the "bads" because this is their first year in operation, but they need to make improvements sooner than later.
Upon arriving we were permitted to swim in the pool until our room was ready, which was very nice. Towels provided for drying and private access to the beach. Our room was not ready on time and upon entering the room it smelled as if the housekeeper used an old mop . The room smelled of mildew. We were in the Royal tower which I was not aware is going to get remolded soon. There was what looks like mold on top of the air vents. The baseboards and floor was chipped in multiple places. Dust was covering the vents as well. For the price paid for one night I do think the rooms should be more updated with newer furniture. The chairs in the dining area were all stained, as well as the couch. This is labeled as a resort and the pictures online are false advertisement. This is more of a motel environment. We would love to come back once it is remodeled as the location is wonderful, but we are not sure. We come to Cape May often and were looking for a hotel to come to regularly in the summer, this doesn’t seem to be the one.
I chose the Madison resort primarily because they had availability last minute (about a week out) and did not require a multi-night stay. I haven’t written a review in a while but wanted to add a positive one here, given all the negatives. We had no issue checking in just after 1pm on a Saturday. No line at all. Our room was ready and we checked into our King Oceanfront, which was right at the front of the building directly facing the ocean. They’d actually called us on our drive down telling me they wanted to move/upgrade us but didn’t want to do it without checking (we’d booked a Queen suite). The room was nicely renovated. The AC was a bit loud as others noted but I switched the fan to low and auto and it really wasn’t bothersome. The pool was a bit crowded (lots of kids, but that was to be expected) but we found two chairs and an umbrella no problem. There was a DJ but I didn’t find it super loud and at 2pm there was a duo singing Frank Sinatra, so definitely not a loud party vibe. We really enjoyed it. The one key issue was that our room had a door to an adjoining king suite and when I tell you it was like the people next door were in the room with us, I’m not joking. We heard every single peep (it was a couple with a baby and a toddler so you can imagine). Luckily, we are early risers so it really wasn’t a huge problem but beware. Anyway, overall we were pleased with our stay, also given a pretty competitive price compared to some other nice hotels along the Jersey shore.

Exceptionally clean and wonderful service. We stayed for two nights and in between dishes were cleaned, sheets and beds were made, and towels were replenished without even us asking. Added bonus, we arrived early and our rooms were ready. Liz, who
This is seriously amazing food! The most flavorful dining experience we had in Wildwood the week of our vacation there. From the chips and queso dip for starters, to the main course of the pork tacos and steak burrito, to the dessert of a fried and

Really tasty vegan (non-dairy) ice cream! They only have one flavor (vanilla) but it had a great creamy texture. They have several toppings that are vegan although only sprinkles can go on top of a cone (as opposed to a cup). The attached picture is
This is a beautiful well- designed venue. The sound system was excellent . The jazz trio was very good but the crowd was sparse. Traditional jazz is not popular with vacationers in Wildwood Crest.
