We were surprised to discover this amazing place with a museum full of historical artifacts, a mansion of the 19 century and little houses. Volunteers do a great job giving you information about the place and showing around the area. We spent 1,5 hours exploring it and still didn’t get to read about everything. The entrance to the museum is only $5. So much worth it! Recommend to everyone!
This place was amazing and the staff were incredible. The staff made you feel totally welcome and were very interested in making sure you understood some of the local history. This place would be a for sure visit on our next trip.
We spent over 2 hours walking through the historical museum, home tour and the many small historical buildings full of antiques and period correct artifacts. What a wonderful experience with knowledgeable and helpful guides ready to answer any questions and share interesting information!
Omg wonderful our tour guide thru the house was amazing. 5.00 to see everything. You have to go. Sorry no pictures of house outside buildings yes
This place is just the best, so fun and interesting to see all this history. Must check out when in Winterset. And there are free range chickens just running around everywhere.
We had an awesome visit. A lot to see and a lot of history. The ladies were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. We will definitely visit again.
A wonderful collection. The rock collection is actually of a high class. The buildings and displays are varied and comfortable to pass through. The house has solid walnut trimmings with glass imported from France. One bed covering was tatted by a man recuperating from war wounds.

This is just one of five bridges of Madison County's made popular by Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep movie, Was passing by fr Des Moines, Iowa to Omaha, Nebraska. Was having second thoughts on doing a detour. But I am glad I did. It's worth the trip.
This is a very cool piece of history, both as a bridge and for the markings found inside made by the people who visit. Surprisingly, there is no graffiti or defamation of any kind. There are locks of love around the steel brace lines on the outside o
A great place to visit if you like anything related to quilting, sewing, or art work in general. A very good exhibit space which is easy to move through and see the exhibited pieces. New exhibits rotate through fairly frequently so there's always s
Great service, clean dining area, & the food was hot and fresh. Order a $7 lunch special of Hunan Vegetables; it came with soup, rice, and a crab rangoon. Delicious! I
