First time there after reading reviews I had high hopes. Food lacked flavor. Nice portions. Coffee was strong and good. Server was attentive.
Delicious, fresh food. Fast, friendly and efficient service. Prices are on the high side but it's justified for the large portions and great taste. Restaurant was clean. No wait on Monday afternoon. My only complaint is the booth seats are not too comfortable but that is merely my personal opinion. All in all Mad Rooster is a fantastic place to patronize.
Yum! A classic Milwaukee staple and usually a wait. If you get there early enough you can get seated right away, but that sweet spot of breakfast/brunch time it is busy! There are plenty of parking spots, but it does fill up quick! Mad Rooster has your classic homegrown, country breakfast feel to it and something for everyone! The menu is extensive and had everything you could want for breakfast! Pancakes, waffles, benedicts, eggs,... the list goes on! Our server was friendly and patient as we decided what we wanted to get. I got the Mad morning tacos, three pretty big tacos with eggs, chorizo, peppers, avocado, salsa and sour cream and a side of potatoes! It was so good and filling! Others at my table got some of the skillets and pancakes! We were all ready for a food coma when we were done!
Good food, great staff (Angel and Oscar are among the few that I request to sit in their sections), good size portions (I either leave full or too full and take leftovers home), reasonably priced. All my years of coming here I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience with my food or with staff. Accommodates anywhere from one person to groups > 10. Some of their staff are bilingual and there’s a lot of diversity in terms of customers. Sometimes there’s a wait (which is worth it in my opinion), so plan ahead and get ready to enjoy :). Shakshouka, Mad Morning Tacos, Stuffed French toast, Strawberry crepes, Salmon with hollandaise sauce and their Chilaquiles - are among some of my favorites.
We love the Mad Rooster! So much so that I requested it for my birthday breakfast/brunch. We’ve been here before so I ordered the Irish Coffee (good, stir in the whipped cream and chocolate syrup and it’s amazing), but their seasonal drinks also sounded great! My husband and I shared the chicken and waffles and the southern Benedict. Be sure to order something with the chicken chorizo gravy - it’s lighter than normal gravy and the chorizo gives it a little kick! Big fans over here. Marked four stars instead of five for a few reasons - the hostess was rude when we first put our names in for a table, and the busyness of the restaurant made it pretty loud (though we were able to be seated right away). Regardless, we’ll definitely be back (and look forward to bringing out of town friends and family here!)
Great service from beginning to end , food came out in a timely fashion the waiter was super sweet and chill just a pure good time and I can't wait to go back!!!! Was my 1st experience, me going back my waitress was not warm , she did not deliver my food with a smile it was not the same experience, the other staff was nothing short of amazing , actually showed customer service and was not even waiting on me, but the person who waiting on me was no stars and I love to tip for good service smh may be a while before I go back.
Great stop from Madison to Chicago. I was there twice with my friends. I love their Yogurts! Amazing and Huge Menu. Old Town Brunch style with amazing food!
Top quality ingredients, offerings, service and staff. These folks are always sure to add those particular touches that take an already good plate up to premium elevation. Always delicious, made fresh, generously portioned, timely, and uncommonly fair pricing considering all of the above. These pancakes are probably the best in Milwaukee and the coffee is particularly tasty. Their specialty potatoes are clearly a flagship strong-suit but I have had zero luck finding anything on the menu which leaves much room for criticism. Go eat here. Just please have a reservation and be timely! These folks work hard to accommodate everyone, but I think it's easy for us as the patron to forget we have a responsibility to respect the time of those who are serving us, to say nothing of other patrons [we live in a society].

I think the coffee and prices are better than Starbucks, the service was good, and the atmosphere is great. Theirs indoor and outdoor seating. You can also purchase coffee to make at home. Theirs a wider selection of things to eat here than Starbuc
It is a very polite and kind place, I bought a pork turkey sandwich, I didn't realize it was pork, they kindly made a new one. This kindness and satisfaction should not go unrewarded! I am very pleased. When I come back from here again, it will be th
This is a cool location on Lake Michigan in the old Milwaukee River Flushing Station. The coffee is good quality. The atmosphere is very neat with all of the old equipment right there.
A friend recommended we try the food. We had a million other breakfast/brunch places on our radar but I'm so glad we listened to the friend. The food was DELICIOUS!! The pancakes were fluffy with a buttery crunch to the edges. The potatoes were prob
