Very nice quick get away. Places to get to the river. Nice place to walk the dogs, but if distance is what you’re looking for this is not it.
I recommend bringing a trash bag. The amount of trash laying around was staggering. There are glass buckets there to use and bring back up from the river.
Oh yeah! If you’re a climber there is a bunch of spots to scale up the rock faces.
There is a nice series of trails, with the river trail being the best. This clearly a rock climbing area, which is one of if the the main draw to this preserve. There's lots of wildlife, especially birds that can be seen here. There was a lot of trash/beer bottles at the first picnic bench, but this was over Memorial day weekend, so that could have been worse than usual.
Absolutely wonderful park. The trails are well marked and maintained. Gorgeous views everywhere you look. It has a decent sized parking lot, a picnic area with tables, and a porta potty. Very cool that it has outdoor climbing as well. Cannot wait to visit again.
My husband and I enjoyed it! The trails aren’t super long but there was enough to keep us entertained for about an hour and a half. I enjoyed walking on the trail that went next to the river and climbing up a big rock named ‘Treasure Island.’ Port-a-potty available at the parking lot, though it had a hornets nest in it when we went.
Newer hiking area I tried out this morning. The trails are nice for the most part and moderate difficulty depending on the path you take. There is also rock climbing in the gorge. Overall it is a nice place to hike. Restroom and picnic tables at parking lot. Dog friendly. Highly recommend.
Mad River Gorge and Nature Preserve just opened in 2017. It is a work in progress and I like what has been done already. Rock climbing is the main attraction but the trails, rock formations and Mad River flowing through it makes this a very scenic destination.
Cool terrain and free climbing. LOADED with a disgusting amount of trash! Formerly a trailer park and apparently they just threw all their trash in the gorge for decades! People are trying to clean it up, but it'll take years to clean up. In the meantime there's a couple nice walking paths that are clean and maintained. Please keep coming out and maybe the resources will become available to clean it up right.
A short distance from the parking lot to the trail head and you'll be presented with a map board and additional info pertaining to the park. The Mad River gorge trail leads down a number of uneven stone steps to a fork in the trail going left or right. The trail from there is mostly flat and level, covered in light mulch. It's really a magnificent view of the Rocky gorge on your right and to your left is the river. As you walk down the trail you'll most likely run into climbers all the way down the trail and back as it's a popular place to climb. Im certain that my family and I will return. We really did enjoy the hike and would recommend it to everyone. If anything else we loved standing near the large field of Queen Anns Lace and take in the scent once more. Take the family out and enjoy this park.

Awesome park in Springfield I found while searching Google Maps. Easy to get to, plenty of parking, and even a porta potty for your needs. The park could use a little attention to detail though. It wasn't the nicest of days or people might be out on

I absolutely love this place! They have the best street tacos around and they are super friendly. They have excellent selection of ice cream and all kinds of authentic things to prepare. I definitely recommend trying this place because you will come
It is a very nice facility. Quite a few Technical advances. It also contains the Kuss Auditorium which is a top class event/show venue. It is beautiful.
A fantastic tour! From the family's history and the area's history, great information. It looks like the place could use some touch-up repairs and a deep clean though. Learn about distinct FLW elements and take a journey into the past. Fun experience
If you go late, towards closing be prepared to wait. BUT THE WAIT IS WORTH IT!!! food is so good. So so good. Taco salad, coneys, Italian sub, funnel cake and a strawberry shake and it was all so yummy!
Loved this little place. Food, service, and setting was great! Will be back. My boyfriend got a cheese omelet. They even made him a second one without us asking. They said the first one was made with only 2 eggs. Can't beat that! I had the Fri
Something for everyone! Both a deli & bakery in one with great facacia grilled sandwiches, salads, carrot cake filled donuts, cookies, pumpkin rolls, a lot of tables, a few couches, & good clean bathrooms!
This library is very nice, and it's big! Besides a large selection of books, they offer a lot here for free, including a sound booth, a seating area, a play area in the children's section, and different events and programs. There are some interesting
A very curious attraction tucked away in Springfield OH. Stop by and walk through the back yard of the late Mr. Hartman. There are many beautiful buildings and sculptures here, well preserved. You can read about his life and motivations as well.
