I had the best meal in Elko during my week stay at Machi's Saloon on a lamb shanks night. Great atmosphere, and a local hangout. Was recommended by a friend who used to come here 20yrs ago and is a friend of owner John Lemich who serves at the bar.
Went to Machi's for our anniversary lunch. Very good service and quick seating. My wife had Chimmilatas, and I had the fish sandwich. Both were GREAT!!! Love the sides as they are always different from the norm. Quick service and the desserts were incredible. Prices very reasonable for the quantity and quality.
Stopped in one evening for dinner. Nice bar and restaurant with character. I sat at the bar because it was only me. I had a cold Anchor Steam in the bottle. Dinner was the Mussels and linguine with chorizo which was spicy and superb. A hearty bowl with lots of mussels. It came with a simple salad and dinner roll. For dessert I had the carrot cake. It was served warm and was excellent. It is definitely a little different than what you normally expect with carrot cake. Overall a bit pricey given the bill
of $48 with tip.
We were seated quickly. Waitress was nice enough. House salad had too many pieces of lettuce that were dark green soggy, or too close to the core. Blue Cheese dressing reminded me of an off brand cheap dressing. Crust on the bread was too hard to eat, the inside of the roll tasted good. I ordered mushroom ravioli. The pasta was tough and the marinara sauce was too spicy (no spice was indicated on the menu) and just didn't taste good to me. The salt and pepper shakers were cruddy and the flower vases were as well... which is an indication to me of inattention to detail. My husband did like his Chicken Alfredo.
In town for the mining expo so we anticipated there might be a wait. We got seated after about 15 mins and it took a while until we could place our orders but they were packed. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. We had the basque pasta, spaghetti and meatballs, stuffed pasta, chicken parm and pesto pasta! I had the pesto pasta - it was very different than typical pasta but it was very flavorful and would highly recommend it! Visit this place! They only take reservations for groups of 6.
Wait staff was great. Food was awesome. (And plenty of it.) Price was good. (Ordered an Appetizer, and an entree that came with fresh bread, and a salad and dessert.) The Carrot Cake dessert is unfreakin believable. (I'd like to eat an entire bathtub full of the Cream cheese, vanilla bean whip cream on top.) Environment is good...a little loud, but it's expected when the place is packed. (Deservedly so.) If I was local I'd be broke cause every penny I had would be spent here.
(Picture of Carrot Cake and Egg Roll Appetizer. I would have taken a picture of the awesome pasta I had but I inhaled it too fast.)
The mushroom ravioli was more like tomatoes sauce over ravioli with added mushrooms.
The Paella was salty, spicy and couldn't really taste the seafood.
Also, service was slow.
Food was pretty good. Salads were large with a very good dressing. I had Stuft Pasta. Very good. Very cheesy sauce. Payment had Veggies and Sausage. Great sausage. The veggies were barely sauteed and the pieces were cut too large. The restaurant was quite loud, at likes limiting conversation.

On a solo road trip. Sat at the bar and ate the salmon salad. It was absolutely delicious and also huge. The salmon and asparagus were warm/hot and cooked just right. The avocado was plentiful and perfectly ripe. There were loads of greens, and they

Very clean rooms. Everyone was super helpful. I love that they have microwaves and fridges. Very convenient but above everything else the staff was spectacular. Above and beyond in kindness.
Always the cheapest place to get your tobacco needs and always will be. The local tribes business really does succeed in putting the customer first and making the experience enjoyable while lasting long. Iâve been a loyal customer for years and wil
