If you're looking for a great spot to enjoy some outdoor recreation, Macedon Canal Park is well worth a visit. The park has a rich history, and is particularly well-known for its excellent fishing. In addition to being a great place to relax and enjoy nature, the park also has top-notch facilities nearby with a multitude of recreation support. Park, port-a-potty, trails, historic sites. Camping is no longer allowed overnight.
This is such a lovely and peaceful campground! Unfortunately as of 9/14/2022 Lock 30 will no longer host overnight campers. Due to irresponsible campers and a string of undesirable incidents that happened over this past summer the campground NY state has transferred to the village of Macedon. It will be a day-use only park. However, we are grateful to be one of the last overnight campers. It really is a wonderful park. The Butterfly trail is beautiful and easy loop. I highly recommend spending the day fishing, boating or pinicing.
Very nice park with access to the Erie Canal and the Empire State Trail. Plenty of parking, very nice picnic area. Camping for those traveling the canal. Butterfly trail is a wonderful trail for all abilities. I was there in off season, but will come back again.
Nice park in Macedon for fishing, walking and group activities. It’s fun to watch the locks open and close. There are tons of perch, catfish and bluegill fish under the canal (recommend bottom water fishing). The little waterfall makes the area sound more lively. Will come here every weekend with family or friends!
Nice place to go fishing along a clean, calm canal, or the locke. Plenty of room to enjoy your own space, and throw out some line. A little playground is there, but very basic swings with a little balance beam. Nice for walking and enjoying nature.
Very nice scenic trail for walking or biking or birdwatching
We stayed in the free camping area for a night. It was decent had a porta potty ... Not my normal way to camp and was lacking some amenities but overall did the job. There was a camper there that argued all night with there wife and was cussing when we had youth there for a temple trip. Not the camps problem but was a problem.
Great place to access the canal path. The walking trails were really cute. Seems to be a favored fishing location. They only had one portapotty so there are no bathrooms.
This place is amazing. Hidden gem for sure. In town for a couple of days for work. Had not had any food all day long and needed something good to eat. Saw this place 8 minutes away past many restaurants and decided to give it a try. Sure glad I did.
Never disappointed. Iâve been here for appetizers with friends, dinner with family, lunch with coworkers, sports banquets and other work get togethers. Always fantastic service, delicious food and drinks. The patio is great in the warmer weather!
I hadn't tried this place. Nice value for the money. I love a good beer battered fish fry. Generous portions. No wait time. Fast service. Very clean. Plenty of parking. This was a nice end to my week!
Just had an 8 night stay at Red's. The camp ground is very nice, although relatively pricey for the campground its self. The owner himself, Red, is a wonderful person and I had the opportunity to speak with him for a little bit. I was concerned with
