Lynchburg Grand Hotel - Hotel in Lynchburg - 601 Main St, USA

When we arrived the elevator was not working but fixed in a couple hours. There was no bar, restaurant or pool as shown on website. The parking was free and the help was extremely nice. No coffee or breakfast was provided. There was a Keurig coffee machine in the room. It was close to a lot of restaurants and bars. Try the Water Dog for some good music.

Very out dated hotel. Would not recommend!! Unless you think Micro inn motels are nice, this is a notch better. Chip and Joanna Gaines need to get ahold of this place. It is absolutely terrible. I wish I would have booked a stay in a LaQuinta Inn so it would have at least been newer. The rooms were also not cleaned like they should. Very disappointed. That blue decoration in the lobby is deceiving. The hotel in definitely not as nice as it is portrayed

We were given non-working keys to a room. Once we got correct keys we realized it was wrong room. Once we went to desk 3rd time and got keys to correct room we found a very hot room that never got cool. It got cooler, but never cool. Dirty carpets. Shower controls cumbersome and upside down. AC very noisy. Some furniture very warn. Sheets were clean and bed was comfortable. Parking is in a public garage next door. Very nice lobby, but floors were still dirty at entrance. BAR & RESTAURANT ARE CLOSED SEMI-PERMANENTLY. Internet was 1.3Mbps.

For the price and placement of this hotel, it definitely shocked me at how lackluster it is. I stayed for a day waiting on an available room at the Craddock Terry a few years ago. It’s near The Virginian and The Craddock Terry. It should definitely step its game up. The Econo Lodge is more up to date than the LGH. The rooms were so ordinary. Nothing stood out. I mean, it’s clean and all, it just shocked me that it was so basic for its location.

We checked in after a 14 hour drive at about 10pm. We get up to our room, and it hadn't been cleaned. Nasty towels on the floor, trash everywhere, beds unmade. So we drag all our stuff back down (there's only one working elevator so this takes a while). The front desk attendant looks annoyed and he gives us a new room on the third floor. In the meantime my daughter had to use the washroom so she used the one near check in. It was totally disgusting. We went up to our next room, and it wasn't much cleaner. The tub was scummy, the chair had a huge stain of some sort. The carpet was dirty and stained, and there was food on the carpet by the bed. At this point it was almost 11pm, so we decided just to go to sleep. In the morning we stopped at the desk and complained. Tiffany was nice, and offered to comp us one night and move us to another room later in the day when we returned (we were headed out to a wedding). We returned about 6 pm and there was a keycard to another room at the desk for us. This room was moderately cleaner, however the comforter was stained which was nasty, as was the mattress pad cover (looked like urine stains which is disgusting. We slept on top of the comforter as that seemed to be the better option. The entire stay the one working elevator had trash and smashed crackers in it. Overall this hotel was dirty and outdated and not worth over $100 a night. We would never stay here again.

Positive: Location is great. Negative: Hotel dated but convenient for downtown Lynchburg. Had an issue with the tub draining slowly. Let the front desk know on the 1st and 2nd morning of a 3 night stay. Maintenance never came. Staff friendly, but few people in hotel. Won¿t return. Negative: ""

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Restaurant on premises and pool are still shut down claiming the pandemic. It’s obvious the owners aren’t investing in keeping this hotel up. WiFi is horrible! Across 5 days staying, the fastest we got was 1.5 Mbps down and 1.8 Mbps up. Horrible hotel and no amenities - way overpriced. We would have stayed somewhere else if any other hotel had two rooms for our length of stay.

My wife and I booked a last min getaway here. I should’ve known for the cheap price for the location of downtown that this hotel was going to be right now. The bed is like a brick. The shower will burn you with how hot the water gets and the tub doesn’t drain so you’re standing in 3 inches of water while you shower. The shower fan didn’t work and you could tell it’s been like that for a while because there was mildew growing on the ceiling. I woke up with my back, killing me from the hard bed. It was a nice little getaway, but will spend the extra money to stay at a better hotel. Next time it would be a great place if they update and remodel I hope that they do.
