LYFE Kitchen - New American restaurant in Chicago - 270 E Ontario St, USA

I came here for a solo dinner on a Tuesday night. There were just two other people dining in. I ordered the Mediterranean Salad, but I got the Mediterranean Salmon! I didn’t even realize it when I paid, because that’s a big price difference. $10 for the salad vs $18 for the salmon. Anyhow, can’t blame them, but make sure you check your receipt in case they mis-hear you. The salmon was excellent. Very good flavors. It was a little too oily though. I’m not sure if that was the cooking oil, or the salmon itself was very oily. Also, the red lentils don’t add much to the dish. They’re not quite fully cooked, and are basically boiled lentils thrown in the bottom of the dish. The portion is quite small for the price of $18. Customer service here is basically nonexistent. However, I don’t fault the workers. It’s got to be hard in this economy with jobs like theirs. (my picture is after I had already eaten some).

This is a great place if you are trying to eat healthy and you like tasty food! It is reasonably priced. You order at the counter and then they bring your food. Staff was quick and friendly. I loved the smoothies. And my tuna and quinoa was great (see pic)

The food was good except for a few things. I ordered the breakfast platter. It had eggs your way, bacon and potatoes with grilled onions. The eggs were not seasoned. The potatoes were nice and tender but they drenched it in sauce. The sauce was amazing, it was just too much for my liking. Atmosphere was cool and relaxed and the busser was very attentive to my needs. I would go back for lunch as this place was in the process of making salads that looked amazing.

Fast and yummy food. Good vegan and vegetarian options. I enjoyed the tofu burrito for breakfast so much, I came back the next day for another one!

A great place for a quick and reasonably healthy lunch. I thought it would be your generic bland salad bowl, but it was a legitimately delicious meal. They nailed both salad base and proteins for both of our dishes, and you know how rarely one can genuinely enjoy a chicken breast in a place like that. Really, surprisingly good.

What a delightful experience. The setting excellent and unassuming, the staff friendly and the food just perfct. Clean place, clean food deliciously prepared and quite reasonably priced for the quality it offers. Will 100% come back again and recommend it to people!

The buffalo cauliflower tacos and silver bullet smoothie were amazing! More filling than expected and not a long wait time, either. The omelet was supposedly tasty, too. Glad to have some good vegan options.

Delicious food! The breakfast burrito was delicious. It comes with potatoes and a siracha-like aioli on the top with onions. It was a good-sized portion so I was able to take some home. My friend got a chicken and rice bowl that was also delicious! The inside was nicely decorated and very spacious/lots of windows. There is seating upstairs too which is cozy. You order at the counter, take a number, and they bring the food to you. The employees were very kind and attentive as well. Breakfast is served until 11. Their smoothies and smoothie bowls looked delicious as well. Lots of healthy food choices and conveniently located downtown.
