The atmosphere and people were genuinely amazing that night. The seating was kind of uncomfortable in the outside area. Overall cool little bar by the Granada and the $2 peach shots were 🔥
Didn’t get any food and there was no service at the table, that night at least, it was go to the bar to be served.
This is a great venue to see the local talent play. There is a nice outside area to hang out. Food is good and there is a good selection of beers.
Best chicken wings. Crab Macaroni and Cheese? Delicious and should not be skipped. Tater tots? Meh. Dip them in the macaroni? Yes please, don’t stop!
Great music venue - Latin bands regularly play - big bands with brass from time to time. A guest list worth monitoring. Affable staff and great Jamaican chicken! Good specials, too! Watch for the spillover musicians from shows at the Granada for a special treat.
I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere for a smaller venue than the grenada, or even rhe bottleneck. The bartenders are super accomidating. Emerald made our day and visit.

Best neighborhood dive bar in Lawrence! If you are a townie or want to steer clear of college kids this is the place to go. All the bartenders are great!
We came by after the KU basketball game. Got to hang out with the college kids for a bit and got pizza and beers. Not many options to sit but itâs a college town bar so no need! Tons of people, great service and great food.

The Sandbar is one of those places that will always be iconic in Lawrence. Yes, every bar can be a lot of fun.. HOWEVER, Sandbar is an experience. It is a party every night.
