Luce - Italian restaurant in Staten Island - 2945 Veterans Rd W, USA

Went here for the first time for Sunday brunch with a group of friends, very pretty setting, they were setting up for a christening, we were able to take a peek and the room looked beautiful. Staff was great, our group had the perfect spot in the corner. We lingered around until dinner time and all the dishes being served around us smelt amazing. I definitely plan on going back for dinner one night.

Went to Luce for a nice dinner date. The staff was fantastic, great service and amazing food. Loveddddd the lamb chops they were absolutely delicious and the truffle mash is excellent. We will definitely be back!!

My experience at Luce is always phenomenal.. the ambience is so pretty! The service is out of this world. All the workers are so welcoming, the owner Maria is absolutely amazing. She is so welcoming, AL is amazing! Such a pleasure to go there all the time. The food is so great. I’ve never had anything that wasn’t good there. LUCE is incredible!

Luce is one of my favorite places to dine. Maria, the owner, is always pleasant, as are her wait staff. The food is excellent in quality and taste. Their prices are very affordable, especially their lunch menu. The decor is outstanding with comfortable seating. In warm weather, the outdoor seating area is a delight. Great restaurant with lovely service. I’d gone with my family to celebrate a special occasion during the week of Valentine’s Day and the place was decorated with roses. It was definitely a nice touch and so beautiful. The food was great, I particularly enjoyed the truffle ricotta, and we all enjoyed our drinks as well. My only feedback is on the dessert, and I’d shared this with the manager as well. Three of us ordered lava cakes and, unfortunately, none of them had “lava.” They were simply cooked straight through, which defeats the purpose of a lava cake. That was definitely a disappointment since we all looked forward to them, but it didn’t ruin the experience. Overall, a great place for dinner. We will definitely be coming back!

Located on second floor of strip mall, Luce is lovely, warm and inviting. Extensive menu and prix fixe options are all delicious. Service was just wonderful. No rush, lovely plating and so savory. A bottle of wine is included in the dinner specials. We were delighted with everything.

We reserved the terrace area for a birthday party 30 people. It took 2 hours for the party to get pasta and everyone was starving because they gave such small amount of appetizers for 10 people at a table. This place destroyed the entire party from the service, to the food being served cold, the portion sizes were ridiculous small. Staff was not attentive. I had to find the maitre d several times to ask for updates. They even cut the cake terribly. Such a disgrace to my poor mother. Granted it was a Saturday night but it was truly embarrassing. People left the party to have pizza downstairs because the service took so long. Entree was served at 10:30pm and the party started at 7pm. I wonder how they have so many good reviews. Having the party on that veranda even though it was heated was a very bad idea it was cold in some spots hot in others and very drafty.

I normally don't like to leave a bad review but this had to be the worse experience I have ever had. The only thing good about this place was our waiter. Let me start by saying the food that wasn't spoiled was bland and nothing special. We ordered 2 apps and 2 entry's. The burrata app was good but lets be honest can't really mess that up when you aren't making it yourself. The filet mignon meatballs were okay but again nothing special. I ordered the braised short rib that was under seasoned and my husband ordered a seafood pasta in a cream sauce. The cream sauce had a sweet paste which we though was odd, and when we ate the lobster it tasted like ammonia. The owner happen to come over and ask how everything was and we said honestly its not good and the seafood was spoiled. She began to say its how they ship it and what they spray on it. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I have never heard of this before. If it taste and smells like ammonia it means its spoiled. She went on to say this happens sometimes, like its okay they serve bad seafood to guest. We left there hungry since we weren't able to eat our food and our bill was still $150. Over priced and horrible food.
