Loya's Little House Bed and Breakfast - Featured Reviews (41)
My family gathered at Loya's Little House Bed & Breakfast to celebrate our sister's birthday. It is simply a delightful place to gather! If you're having a group gathering, I recommend renting the whole house! So many great qualities . . . just to name a few: - attractively decorated rooms - comfortable beds - beautiful views from inside the house and serene, beautiful scenery outside - 5 star breakfast that is varied each day and deliciously scrumptious every time! - comfortable seating areas inside and outside for eating and visiting - multiple walking paths to explore - hosts that are welcoming, gracious, and fun to visit with - close to Ames area attractions, but far enough away that you can enjoy the quiet, idyllic countryside Simply a wonderful experience from arrival to departure! We'll definitely be returning!
Lovely place. The place to be if you want to be away from city and near nature. The breakfast is magnificent. Beautiful surroundings very clean and well kept place.
Had the pleasure of staying the weekend while in the area for local dog hunt test. Very nice accommodations! The breakfast as elegant and delicious. You definitely do not walk away hungry. Thank you!
What a treasure to find. Would highly recommend it and all it has to offer -- so welcoming, the serenity of the surroundings, and complete with a delicious breakfast! Even during a cool rainy evening, the Cardinals and other birds were very active. Would love to return when we can stay longer! ❤️
We stay at Loya’s every time we come to Ames. Always a treat—comfortable, clean, great breakfasts with local-sourced foods. The B&B interior is beautifully furnished, and the grounds are lovely. The owners provide excellent bird habitat on the property, and if you are a bird-watcher you will see many species during migration. Unreservedly recommended.
This is a gem of a B&B! It felt so homey and comfortable and everything is clean and tidy. You can tell Dean & Denise take great pride in the property. The breakfasts are delicious and generous and served in the most charming ways with antique dishes. Though I didn't get to enjoy the surroundings, it is set in a beautiful farm property with wildlife and sweeping views of fields with trails. I forgot my sweater wrap in the closet and Denise was so responsive and sent it back to me SO quickly!
We got married at Loya's B&B late October (2021), and it was absolutely beautiful and perfect. They had multiple options for outdoor ceremonies and a Plan B option if it rained. We were lucky to have a perfect day. We also used their conference and outdoor area for cocktail hour, and we went indoors for dinner. Our families were able to stay overnight, which was convenient and fun! We also had the best breakfast the next day prepared by Loya's. The folks at the B&B helped us visualize the entire evening and made everything very easy for us. All of our family and friends (from out of state) were so impressed by the place that they are already talking about renting the whole place out for future family events.
We held our wedding here in early June 2019, and rented out the whole house for the weekend, holding the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception there. We were extremely happy with how everything turned out - we had high expectations and everything turned out just as we had hoped. The gardens and house are beautiful, comfortable and well suited to entertaining a small to medium sized wedding (we had 50 people). The rooms are comfortable, well thought out and clean. Dean and Denise were incredibly helpful every step of the way, very responsive and easy to work with, and very accommodating. I highly recommend Loya's, and would happily plan another large party here. As the weather was lovely, we held the ceremony in the front garden, had appetizers and drinks on the front patio and then held the reception at tables spread out under the trees in the front lawn. We also easily hosted 25 people for the rehearsal dinner inside. Some of our guests had reduced mobility, but had no problems with accessibility. Everyone enjoyed exploring the gardens, watching the birds, and chatting around the fire. We catered both dinners ourselves, as one of our good friends is a caterer from Canada. The kitchen is large and comfortable to work in with a lot of storage space, and it is very well stocked and well labeled. It is not a catering kitchen, and so we did need to bring in a cooler, but otherwise it was very easy to work in. It was also great that they made tasty breakfast in the mornings to give us a break from cooking.
Was in town for a wedding and had a flawless stay at this hotel. Great breakfast bar: eggs, bacon, waffles, and fresh fruit! Add 2 hard-working Country Inn employees who kept the food coming and the tables fastidiously CLEAN! Did I say BACON? Lots of
Updating my old review: This will once again become my favorite hotel in the area. The newly updated rooms are a nice change of pace and I found all of the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The gateway has done a good job bringing things up to

Innamoratissimo! The cityâs definitive hole in the wall cafe downtown, under what was the old Bike World / Two Wheel Travel on Kellogg and Main. Great aesthetic, not too big nor too small. NOT wheelchair accessible due to the almost microscopic sta
