This place is no longer doing business as Lowden's Beachfront Bed & Breakfast. They are called Lowden's Beachfront Lodging. No breakfast is served to the guests but the hosts are very nice and friendly. The place has rooms with absolutely awesome views of both the ocean and the river. There was driftwood to climb over at the bottom of the stairs to get to the large sandy beach. You would not want to be wearing flip flops for that. The double sized bed was quite a surprise, it was very cozy.

We have found our new go to place to stay in Brookings! We stayed in the room on the corner with a view of the Chinook River and the Pacific Ocean. There are stairs that lead down to the most wonderful uncrowded beach where we took a nice long walk. It was beautiful! The room was a suite with a nice family room with a couch, tv, table, chairs, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle and binoculars to take in the view. The wi-fi connection was excellent and there was cable tv. Great bathroom with everything you need and the bedroom was fantastic. There is a fireplace in the corner and a very comfortable queen size bed. There is a rack to hang clothes. The owner is really sweet and made us feel very welcome. They do not serve breakfast but the price is reasonable for the suite. We loved our stay and can't wait to go back!

My husband and I go the coast a few times a year. This time it was to celebrate his birthday. I found Lowden's online and read the reviews. A few people had problems with the directions but I didn't at all. What a wonderful quiet neighborhood. We didn't hear a single sound other than waves. There was an earthquake in Port Orford just before we got there and the waves were fantastic !!!! We watched 4 otters playing and eating in the river. The whole experience was so peaceful. The living room, bathroom, and bedroom were spotless. The bed was comfortable and had lots of blankets and pillows to choose from. I can't even describe the view.... amazing ! We ate a fanatic meal with really great drinks at Catalyst (recommended by Barb), had an okay meal at Sporthaven, had a nice meal at Fat Irish Pub and the fluffiest donuts ever at Bakery by the Sea (they even made a birthday cake that was so chocolatey I think we went in to chocolate shock ). What a wonderful trip ! Thank you Barb for the great place to stay and all your suggestions.

What a wonderful place. The hosts are very efficient and nice. It is such a great spot here we don't want to leave. The beach is scenic, and waves are a constant backdrop, adding to the overall serenity. There's a limited kitchen so that if you are creative with a microwave then dinner will be served with a better view than most expensive restaurants. The shower is fabulous! It is homey with a lot of contact with the hosts who are super nice. Here's the view from the deck: ...

What can I say? We found this place in a road trip book and rang on a whim hoping we would get a room. We managed to get a beautiful room, and it turned out to be probably my favourite spot on our whole trip ... we went from San Francisco right the way up to north Vancouver island. It was honestly a dream, the views, the ocean front location, the terrace, the peace, the hospitality, the welcome we received, and the most comfortable bed! Its a really special place. I hope to be back one day.

Loved the location and the easy access to the beach. The area is so entertaining. The property is well maintained and clean (if you don't look too close). This place had the most comfortable bed EVER and the sounds of the ocean were divine. The owners are welcoming and helpful. I would stay here again in a heart beat ♥ My husband says "Yeah Baby".

Beautiful setting, right on the beach, sleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach. The owner met us, showed us the room and gave restaurant recommendations. Our rooms were clean and fresh, and quite comfortable. In the morning, we rose early, made coffee & had a light breakfast, then went for a stroll along the beach. Fantastic.

What can I say? We stayed in June this year. It's a beautiful, special place, stunning views, peaceful, warm hospitality and a very comfortable bed! We drove from San Francisco to Vancouver and it was one of my favourite spots of the whole trip. I really hope to be back one day.

Made multiple stops throughout the park and thoroughly enjoyed each one of them. Some have moderate hikes so be mindful of what you’re getting yourself into. What goes down must come back up. We can’t wait to come back and see more!
