Had a great time for a first visit. As a former french LEO and a lifelong police passionate I spent arround 2 hours taking my time to catch each and every detail. I truly recommend the visit to keep the museum living!
We went to see a boxing tournament where Ryan Ramirez won and it was very interesting they have food vendors and good entertainment.the museum has a really nice display
A museum of a rare kind, showcasing the history of Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and its evolution though major events. There’s even a realistic prison room featuring famous criminals and celebrities who stayed. The best part is on the backyard, featuring bomb disposal robots, armored vehicles, bomb trucks , a helicopter and several cars (including some with bullet holes). Would recommend 2 hours to fully grasp all the displays.
Drove all the way here and there was a handwritten sign on the door that they are closed 1/17-1/20!!! Seriously? Nothing on the website about being closed. Pretty bad when guests come from out of town and we try to bring them! DO BETTER!
Brilliant history. The North Hollywood shoot out area is fascinating 👌
Really cool mini history stop. My son loved it. This could be a quick stop for a tour through LA. There are 3 floors and an outside area to see the original cars in the bank robbery with bullet holes.
Interesting museum where you can see a variety of equipment used by the police. Special displays and documentary regarding the north hollywood shootout, patty hearst and the SLA … etc.. only open tuesday and thursday ( buy tickets online)
What a wonderful historic museum, housed in a beautiful old building. With the audio tour, it was only $10 per person. Interesting to learn how forensic science evolved to be incorporated into the modern police procedure. Lots of heroic and tragic exhibits. I would say it's good for 9yo and above. The kids liked looking at the jail cells and the collection of handcuffs, as well as the collection of police vehicles in the back. Tour took about an hour or so, parking lot is available next to the museum.
