This place looks older, but decent on the outside. Inside, however, is a totally different story. The rooms are dark and dreary. The paint is old and shoddy work. The flooring wasn't cut even on the edges. Bathroom very tiny and dimly lit with rust. The kitchette is old and dated with not even paper towels and no dishes or utensils. I purchased some disinfectate wipes and soap to clean as soon as I moved in. I had big cobwebs in my window. Light and air coming in around the door. The bed is very springy, you think you might pop off of it. The staff is friendly and try to be helpful, but they are young and not very professional, but I do not blame them. The manager lady is rude and uncaring of my concerns. They clean whenever the mood hits them - so you never know if your room will be cleaned or trash emptied or not when you return in the evening. The internet works - sometimes if you are lucky. They have a large pool area, but it stays covered up and gate is locked, so you can't even enjoy that area. This lodge could be renovated into a nice comfortable place to stay and would probably be filled most of the time with its location. New manager would be a good place to start.

9/5/2020: Terrible. 3 families made reservations for labor day weekend to stay at the long leaf and ride the MTB trails. We arrive and are told there are no rooms and no check-ins. Employee on duty refused to contact management or owner. This is completely unacceptable. Now we are all stuck teeing to get our money back and had to get rooms in town 12 miles away. Vacation for three families: RUINED. Only trip any of us has been on since we were at this hotel in March. Old review: was 5 starsThis hotel is seriously amazing. I typically hate hotel experiences preferring Airbnb, but this place felt like home. Huge rooms with kitchen areas including stove and fridge, dining table, sofa, and two beds. Very clean and quaint, staff was awesome to deal with. Would stay again if in the area

New managers have taken over and have updated the property and hired new staff. The hotel is clean and many rooms remodeled. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. We have stayed three times now. We have met several others who come in from out of town to work in Anniston and they prefer to stay at Long Leaf Lodge because it is quieter and safer than the hotels downtown.

Was at an event at this hotel this weekend. The staff was wonderful! Real first class folks. They went out of their way to insure that we had everything we needed. We used the beautiful outdoor pavilion in the pool area for our evening get together and HIGH STAKES poker tournament. (I hear that the champion cleared almost a four dollar overage when all was said and done. ) The rooms were spotless and good smelling. The furniture was old but the bed was comfy. The WiFi was adeviate for our needs. Our group has been there before and is planning a return soon. The Alabama Brigade and her brigadeers are most thankful.

I only stay here when in town business. The rooms are decent and the staff is extremely courteous. They recently renovated and added hardwood floors in the rooms. The TVs are rather small, but the rooms are spacious. Its also in a remote quiet area away from all the traffic, but close enough to drive for necessities. Its an OK lodge for the cost.

Stinking, dirty, rusted out, dark and dingy! For $73/night, I should have put another $10 with it and gone to a quality hotel. The carpet is DEAD and smells like feet. The bedding is dark and dingy and looks suitable for a ho...tel. The full-sized mattress bed feels spring-loaded. The walls are dirty; the baseboards rusting away; the soap bars are 1x2". The heat/air unit was so loud that it could not be used. Oh, the towels were clean and the television worked. Stayed because it's the only lodging near my relative. Will stay in Oxford the next time.

I have stayed here a few times during the Civilian Marksmanship matches, it is a good budget place to stay with easy access for all of the equipment I carry. As I am retired military, the price is good too, if you go down to the exit you will pay 100 a night, and it is very noisy and congested. As stated before, the new management is redoing the rooms and making a effort to upgrade, I am confident they will succeed and make the place even a nicer destination.

Nice place with a military vibe and feeling. Spent many nights here while I was in the police academy several years back. Spent many exhausted nights there after coming back in the room from the military style law enforcement basic training and this place was just so comfortable. The staff was always kind, especially after I had been yelled at all day by the academy instructors lol. I highly recommend.
