My wife and our two children, a 3 year old toddler and a 4 months old baby stayed here . As a travel executive and Marriott platinum member,I stay at hundreds of hotels around the world every year and I can honestly say this was one of the worse hotels I’ve stayed at; I requested a room near the elevators because the floors are carpeted which makes it harder to pull luggages while pushing strolled or carrying bags—while checking in, the person at the desk didn’t have that ready for us ( no big deal) but they managed to find a compromise mid-way down the hall. I was shocked when I entered the room and it seemed like we were back in the future in what looked like a 1945 hotel room: old appliances, carpet, bathroom and chairs. The room wasn’t necessarily small but somehow felt cluttered. ||||What really prompted this review is the fact that we stayed there for 3 nights and didn’t have any hot water in the sink so every morning I’d have to play around with the faucet, trying to see if we could find any hot water. In the shower , it was either get burned or take a cold shower —no warm setting! I’d literally try for about 30 mins to find a good balance so I can take a shower but that proved difficult. ||||While here , I needed to get something printed; there are signs in the lobby for a business center but it wasn’t clear where this was so I asked the front desk, the gentleman literally said “umm I don’t think it works, I haven’t seen the printer work in a year!” ….me being optimistic , I still tried to find it and walked into an Empty room with no computer nor printer in-sight. The following morning, I’m having breakfast in the “club-lounge” which is just a separate sitting area in the restaurant in the lobby, I see a computer and a printer towards the back of the room…..it’s a computer/printer available to print. No one will know this unless you find it or have “lounge access”.||||The lobby is renovated but the rooms are definitely not. We asked for towels and had to call back so the service is definitely lacking. ||||Overall, this is not a good hotel reflective of the Marriott brand. This is more in line with what I’d expect in a best western.

I am an Ambassador Elite Lifetime member with Marriott so needless to say, I am a fiercely loyal customer to the brand!  In my many years of staying in their hotels, I've NEVER been treated so horribly as I did the other day (6/30/24) at the Long Island Marriott.  After a stressful 2 1/2 hour drive, I arrive at the lobby and notice two women behind the check-in convening over a computer.  I figure there must be a problem to which they're tending. Several minutes go by, I'm looking around (I'm the only person there) and never ONCE did I get a "Welcome!" or a "We'll be right with you."  The one woman, Kirishma, goes to another computer and the other walks away.  I'm confused now and wonder if she will be checking me in on this different computer.  She says nothing and just keeps her head down clacking away!||I wait and wait and wait and then a large MAN with a luggage cart full of items comes huffing in, walks right past me and says to the woman, "Is this check-in?"  She says yes and continues with her clackity clacking.  I'm looking at them both thinking “They certainly don't think HE is allowed to get checked in before me as I've clearly been standing here by myself waiting for at least 5 minutes!”||The other woman comes back, says something to her, sees that the gentleman thinks he's going to get served before me and nods at me and mouths "It's okay!"  Whew!  What a relief!  She sees it and can verify that I'm next.  Well, then she walks away again and Kirishma finally looks up and says "Sir" and motions him to come forward.  I immediately say that I was actually next as I've been standing there waiting for a very long time and before I can say anything else, he jumps down my throat, starts cursing at me and saying he's had a bad day and that he's clearly next and that I'm in "the other line!”  This is when I pull rank and say to the woman that I'm Ambassador and that clearly she knows I was next. The man starts yelling that if she takes me before him bc I'm Ambassador that he would throw even more of a fit.||She decides to continue with checking him in and I say that I needed her name because this was clearly WRONG as I had been waiting for so long and he comes storming in past me and gets to go ahead.  God forbid an older white man be put in his place over just a worthless little woman!!||When she’s done checking him in, I go to her and ask her why she did that and her response was, “I was trying to diffuse the situation,” to which I replied, “Diffusing the situation would be telling him she’s sorry but I had been waiting there and I was next.” I ask her to write her name down and when she’s done checking me in she gives me my room key with her first name written on its jacket. I ask her for her last name and she snarkily says, “My first name is enough.” I repeated that I needed her full name and she, again, refused to give it to me. As I’m finishing gathering my belongings she’s laughing under her breath and I said I was glad she found this all so humorous. She then very sarcastically says, “Have a WONDERFUL day!”||I go to my room and call my personal Ambassador Concierge; however, he’s out of the office for the holiday so I call back to get a live person. I speak with Kadesha (sp?) and she takes my full story and says she will open up an incident ticket for this occurrence and will relay everything to Brian, my personal concierge. She was very apologetic and understanding and said that a manager from the Long Island Marriott will call me soon with an apology and reparations. ||The next day I still hear nothing so I write an email to Brian saying I haven’t heard anything back from anyone at Marriott and that I’m still in shock all of this happened. Brian’s replacement, Melissa, called me soon after and was very understanding and apologetic and said she will work on this ticket and get to the bottom of it and continue to try to reach the manager at the LI Marriott to get some answers on my behalf.||Melissa emails me the following day saying she was still working on it as she was not getting any response whatsoever from the manager. Yesterday, I get a call from Brian who is back in the office and he is his wonderful self, profusely apologizing that I had this experience. He said when he got into the office he was so confused that the manager hadn’t at least called me back by this time. After several attempts he finally reached him and the manager informed him that they had closed the ticket and would not be rectifying this for me whatsoever. ||Brian told him he was very confused as he could completely understand how I was upset about this treatment and the manager basically said “Too bad. We’re not doing anything about it.” So Brian informed him that he will handle it and make it up to me himself, which ultimately means, the Long Island Marriott will get charged for the compensation points Brian redeemed for me.||So, good job Long Island Marriott! Bravo! It started with Kirishma creating a worse problem by trying to avoid a minor one, to you refusing acknowledgment to a loyal member to now having to ultimately pay for my room via corporate charge back! You’re a location with egregious customer service and it's obvious in everything you do (not to mention all these horrible reviews) that you have zero pride in or intention of upholding the prestige of the Marriott name.

We were heading back upstate from a bridal shower in the Hamptons and needed a place to crash. It was fine for that. It’s a large hotel in a busy part of Long Island. I have stayed here before for events that we attended. The staff are all helpful. The lobby area is fine. I would say that the rooms, the carpeting, bathrooms are on the worn out side and need updating. The other thing that really bother me was, I couldn’t even have a free cup of coffee in the morning. Especially as a Marriott Bonvoy member I would expect certain basic necessities like a cup of coffee to be complementary. They include the tip charge for the coffee and it was $5.15 for a large (Which is a normal size) It’s these basic things that should be complementary, which leave a bad taste in one’s mouth. Next time I’ll go with a Hampton Inn.

Marriott Hotel should consider using modern duvet covers instead of bedsheets, which tend to slip off and leave guests in direct contact with the duvet. This is particularly concerning from a hygiene perspective, as the duvet may be reused and could be stained with makeup and other residues. Please address this issue.

In short, this hotel needs a complete renovation. As someone who travels extensively for work and frequently stays at Hilton and Marriott properties, this was the first time I've had to take a cold shower at a hotel. The property has clearly needed updates for many years and feels neglected. I will not be staying here again.

While I want to give this place five stars, I can only give it for due to the maintenance needed within the building. Security was phenomenal upon pulling up. He helped me find parking and check in. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant did not disappoint. The food was top-tier, a little pricey, but still quite affordable for a hotel restaurant. My only complaint about this hotel was the wallpaper was peeling on our floor, which was the fourth floor everywhere. It looks very unprofessional and not like Marriott quality. There were bags of trash and laundry, blocking the door to my room upon check-in. While they were quick to handle and remove it, it should not have been there in the first place considering I didn't check in until nearly 5 PM. The elevators were disgusting garbage and stains and spills on the floor. The pool was pretty cold, and there's nothing to do for the children. Other than that the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with everything that I asked. Would I stay here again?...probably not. It was not worth the price. ($275/night)

This hotel is an absolute train wreck. This is my third night here for a work conference. One day I had hot water after letting it run for literally 17 minutes, the next day, no hot water at all at 7:30 AM. Came back to the room at 4:00 and the temp was 76, the coolest it got all night was 73. Tonight, just as the keynote speaker speaker starts for the RNC, th cave, goes out still put 30 minutes later. The vents have so much mold and dust it’s no wonder the AC doesn’t work. For some reason my room has two fridges. Go figure. Please save yourself the aggravation and do not stay here.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Normally, all my reviews are wonderful experiences but most recently I visited and stayed at the LONG ISLAND MARRIOT to take my daughter to Hofstra and I have to say it was an awful experience. So extent that I have reached out to Nassau County Executive. Not only could I not sleep at night because of the noise but my car was stolen. Of course, this was reported to Nassau Police which I have yet to hear from the Detective, The Hotel - Marriot response was alarming. My car was in front of the hotel and all they could tell me they could not see anything because of the angle. Window Glass just left right in their faces and they could have cared less for safety ☹. To add insult to injury they basically said I parked on their property at my own risk. I paid well over 1700 for a couple of nights – you would think they would have responded differently with more compassion and empathy … nope they just removed one day stay. On their back lot they have many abandoned vehicles which look stolen and/or broken into. I would have thought Nassau County would have found this worthy of a full investigation but no its been crickets. Then when speaking to some other Hofstra parents, I was informed another parent experienced the same but with her rental. When I asked the Marriott of the event they said they no nothing. It’s like some strange weird awkward silence like are they in on this or know about the car thefts on their property. I reported this to their corporate office – regarding no cameras etc --- crickets. Whoever stole my vehicle did not just take my vehicle but took away the Joy me and my daughter were expecting to have her first year attending Hofstra. BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL WORSE MARRIOTT and I am a Bonvoy member. This has been very Traumatizing.
