Lonesome Dove Guest Ranch - Featured Reviews (165)
We came to Lonesome Dove Guest Ranch for a trail ride. Highly recommend! We absolutely loved our time there. Robin, our wrangler, was friendly, informative and fun! The horses were great and the views amazing! We were sorry we didn't plan a longer ride! Maybe next time!!
We had plans to stay here the last week of July. We had to cancel our plans. We cancelled the beginning of July, and we should receive a refund according to their own policy. We have called multiple times and spoken to them multiple times. We are always told that the owner is unavailable and they'll get back to us. No one has ever called. They owe us hundreds of dollars. It's completely shady and unethical that they take advantage of people like this. If you're staying at lonesome dove, don't pay until you're actually there.
We stayed in the John Dunbar Walled Tent. The atmosphere is great, accommodations were rustic and fun and the free breakfast was delicious, made to order, and had many options available. We will return and highly recommend including this in your next trip. We've already recommended this to our family and friends.
I am not associated with the place. Whenever I travel I try to find local places instead of the chain hotels. This is a unique ranch with Guest Cabins that are comfy, well-furnished, and rustic. It got a little cool at night since I couldn't figure out how to operate the heater. Otherwise, it was awesome and I would stay here again if ever in the area!
We booked two cabins at this guest ranch for July for one night. Our plans changed and we canceled well within the allotted time for a 90% refund. Since then we have called four times to inquire about our refund and all four times have been told someone will look into it and call us back. No one has called. It is clear they have no intention of refunding us so now we have to dispute the charge with our credit card company. I do not recommend ever booking at this ranch.
This is more of a warning/tutorial for anyone who needs to cancel a reservation from this place and get their money back. I booked for 2 nights back in April 2024 for a stay in August 2024 and due to some uncontrollable circumstances, I needed to cancel my stay in late May 2024. It took about 3 weeks to finally get my refund. Here’s what you do:
1. If you need to cancel, make absolutely sure you call and ask for the owner, Sharron. No one else is authorized to give you a refund except Sharron.
2. The hotel’s policy is that they have 10 business days to process your refund and they charge you a 10% fee to refund your money.
3. There is NO refund if you try and cancel within 15 BUSINESS days for your stay.
4. Call AND email Sharron and keep good records for the event that you need to dispute the claim with your bank/credit card company.
5. It takes Sharron less than 10 minutes to actually refund your money, but she may try to drag it out in hopes of you giving up or falling into that 15 business day window and no refund available. Be persistent.
Good luck to everyone
My 10 year-old son and I booked the Teepee experience for our three day trip. We had a wonderful time enjoying the quiet Montana back country with all the animals, the sunset views and friendly staff. The beds provided in our Teepee were comfortable and equipped with heavy blankets for the cool evening air, and the communal bathroom was clean and heated a short distance away. We enjoyed the made-from-scratch country breakfast every morning and the break from busy city life in the evening. We both would come back again.
Sharron doesn’t pay her employees. This place reeks of white trash. Sharron likes to pretend that this place is a “sanctuary” for her horses but in reality they’re underfed and neglected. She lures people out there with the incentive of “housing on site” there is NO HOUSING. One of the employees killed himself in a trailer on site. She has one of the kitchen helpers living in a camper full of cat pee /squalor that she tried to house me in…. Then she tried to put me in a cabin with no electricity/water/heat/ filth.
I slept in my car for 3 nights here then got the hell outta dodge when I could.
This place is depressing and needs to be shut down. She needs to be investigated and charged.
Wonderful concert venue. Comfortable seats and great sound system. Staff was super helpful in finding seats and offering information. Wish the lighting would have been a bit better, but that may have been the band's crew. Way too much bright white, w
