Very nice COE campground. Plenty of places to walk the dog while watching barges pass by. The road from Ashland City is a little narrow and locals drive it like a nascar road course. Road into the campground has steep spots. Lastly plenty of ticks everywhere so be warned.
...this was a very beautiful campground! Everyone was friendly & helpful, spacious camp area with clean bathhouse & campground!...Definitely one to visit if ur in the area, we were able too fish from river or lake on site with success!... our site was gravel but some are concrete!...the camp host was very helpful with items to add to my scrapbook travel journal!
Clean campground, beautiful place with waterfront tent sites. Water and garbage bin at each site. 👍 Plentiful options for stuff to do in Clarksville and Nashville. It rained a lot the two times I camped here, might just be bad luck. Thanks for the memories!
This is a nice, quiet place to be. Good fishing and awesome campsites. The lady at the check station was a little rude, but that is not why I gave it 4 stars. I gave four stars for the ONE shower they had in the ENTIRE campsite. I brought me a shower tent so I didn't have to wait in line for a shower. I was in a tent. I guess this is a mostly RV park.
Always love it here! Beautiful & neat as a pin. Restrooms are old but serviceable. Cumberland River was right outside our door & we really enjoy watching the boats, tugs/barges and even river boats go by!
Excellent campsite with power, water, charcoal grill, fire pit, stone table and benches plus steps down to the river. There are several fishing spots within walking distance and a few more only a 5 minute drive away. There is an on site trash can that is changed daily by the park. There is a small man made beach just down the road that also has charcoal grills at every little pavilion.
We stayed overnight at Lock A campground while working our way west. I enjoyed our stay there and would have liked to stay a few more days. The river was scenic, especially with the occasional barge passing by. The road in to the campsite is very steep downhill but in good condition with minimal traffic. The entrance booth was empty when we arrived in the afternoon but it was occupied in the morning when we departed. I did see park rangers drive through the campground when we were there. There were just under 20 campers there and a couple of tents when we stayed in September. Ashland City is a short drive away for groceries and other things.
Our site was a level concrete pad with a picnic table, grill, fire ring, lantern hook and trashcan. Some sites had blacktop pads instead of concrete. We stayed in Site 3 which was easy to back in and had room for our truck and 36’ 5th wheel with lots of room left over. The electric pedestal and water connections were in good condition with 50 & 30 amp service available. There were plenty of channels available using antenna TV and we had about two bars of signal with AT&T cellular. There were plenty of trees to provide shade throughout the campground but I didn’t encounter any with low branches to interfere with our tall 5th wheel. There was a volleyball court and playground. The bathrooms and showers were typical COE, old but fairly clean. They had fans going that provided great ventilation, which was nice because some COE showers I’ve been in are like a sauna during the summer. I would stay here again.
Very quiet camp. Lots of barge activity on Cumberland River. Fun to watch. Level cement pads. Would stay here again.
