A family go to for over 50 yrs. Sadly it's hard to find any vacant rooms anymore. We try to go twice a year. Steve & Edie are the very best owners I've ever met. Many great times there & many more to come.

Spent 4 days at the BEST lodge ever!! The place is immaculate and has the sweetest couple taking care of it all! Everything we needed in the suite and the kitchen was a perfect size for what we needed and the grill on the deck came in handy! I absolutely love the old school feel of the lodge, it only has about 9 rooms so it was quiet and quant! We will most definitely be making this a yearly tradition, and can’t wait to go back next summer!!!

On the lake and close to downtown. Suites are best, rooms are quite small. Nice deck along the water with plenty of chairs. Staff was not readily available and office was never open for the 4 days of our stay. Unusual warm days made for uncomfortable room temperature with only small fan and breeze box for comfort. Rooms were quite stuffy and leaving doors and windows open for ventilation lead to numerous flying insects collecting around lights. Rustic is a great definition,consider it to be glamping without many luxuries.

The views from the rooms of this lodge is so mesmerizing. The perfect still water of the lake creates the perfect symmetrical reflections of nature. We could see the trains on the mountains. At nights the lights from the trains look cool. Can't stop coming back here.

Stayed 12/22-27 in the Lake Side Studio (downstairs with easy access to the beautiful built in hot tub jacuzzi). The kitchen, though quite small, was very well appointed and easy to cook in. Highly recommend.

My family and I were staying in the area over spring break to hit the slopes and needed a place to stay and we were looking for a kitchenette. The kitchenette definitely met our needs but what was really great was the cleanliness of the rooms and the view from our room of Donner lake. Loch Leven Lodge has that classic look to it of a lodge in the woods. Definitely would love to go back.

This is a beautiful lodge right on the shore of Donner Lake. An expansive deck is a great place to sit quietly and enjoy the view, have a glass of wine, or barbecue. Mike was a great host. We arrived late, and he called to let us know that our room was ready and unlocked for us. When he got back to the lodge he came over to meet us, gave us great recommendations for dinner, and even made reservations for us. I would have given 5-stars, except that we were on the bottom floor, and the creaky floors from the people above us were quite noisy.

We have been going there for 40 plus years. Lots of wonderful memories made there. The deck is the best part of the experience. We have caught many fish, had many picnics/barbecues, drank lots of bloody Marys, spent lots of time in the hot tub and visited with many of our friends. The owners are very nice people and management has always been helpful.
