LOCAL Public Eatery Terry Ave - Gastropub in Seattle - 404 Terry Ave N, USA

Went here with my work team while visiting Seattle. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Vibe of the place was great and the service was ok. Food taste was good, but felt the food was overpriced and with very small portions. Prawn dumplings were the best. But other dishes like fried chicken, chicken wings, roti curry were for around $20 each and the portion sizes were awful for that price. Even the drinks felt overpriced and nothing special.

Nice spot for a quick bite or interesting beer. Friendly service and well prepared menu items. Location is tough for parking,but worth it!

Were looking for a place to watch the games and have a drink, this was perfect. Sat at the bar, big TVs right upfront and the barkeep Ardon was super friendly and cool, definitely a nice sports bar to check out.

Go to this Seattle restaurant if you DON'T want service. We couldn't even review the food or atmosphere because we were so ignored that we never experienced either. On a slow Friday afternoon, our family went to Local to have an early dinner. Instead we were treated with such disrespect. We waited 20 minutes for our server to acknowledge us (which she NEVER did), while at the table next to us she constantly waited hand and foot on a group of young men who were drinking. We assume that her smiling and giggling while constantly checking on them was to earn the tips that often come from people who get served lots of alcohol from a giggling waitress. She literally did not even turn to look at us even though we were her table and directly next to the drinking men. Her lack of attention was exacerbated by the fact that we were hungry and had hungry children with us (although we were all sitting quietly while we waited for her to even notice us). Finally, after 20 minutes we asked the hostess about our situation. The server then made poor excuses about how she was "just" coming to check on us. "Just"...after 20 minutes at a fairly empty restaurant. On their website their byline includes this phrase "we strive to never skip a beat with service". Don't believe them, unless you are young men who are drinking lots of alcohol and getting attention from a young, female server.

Great place and excellent service. Sat at bar and had the Local Burger and Fries. The Bar has a great ambiance to the place. Cold and raining night in Seattle, but this place rocks.

Frequently selected happy hour bar for the SLU crowd. Beer selection is broad but shallow, with maybe one or two options per style and food is fine albeit unremarkable. This is the kind of bar you bring a bunch of people with different drink and food preferences because everyone will find something that they're good with but probably nothing they love. It is quite popular so you can expect waits and my suggestion is to make a reservation.

This restaurant is the definition of shrink-flation. We ordered the $21 wings, one person could eat 5 plates of them. The wings were tiny. We ordered burgers & they were kids meal size. The patty didn’t even fill the bun? We both left hungry for more food, but knew that this overpriced, tiny portion restaurant wasn’t the place to get filled up. They also just lacked flavor. It honestly was giving wendys/McDonalds but for $20-$30… we felt so wrong paying for something that just left us so disappointed & dissatisfied.

Love this place, all the food I've had here is great! The beer is excellent too with a rotating selection each week.
