You won't have any cell service or TV reception, but that's what we like. Good hiking trails, but rather hilly if you aren't in shape. There is a good little restaurant/bar/camp store for whatever you may need or have forgotten just before the park entrance. Be aware there could be bears or snakes nearby.

Even on a hazy day, it's difficult to not see nature's beauty. I've lived somewhere, within an hours travel,of this beautiful State Park, and each time I visit I reminisce in the familiarity of things from when I was a child, but at the same time get excited when I explore and find things that mother nature has changed. The camp grounds are a great blend of nature and activity. The beach is clean and the same as it was 50 yrs ago. Fishing is the best, and if you're lucky, you'll catch dinner before an Eagle does.

We had a really nice stay renting the yurts, they were both cozy and clean. They do not have AC in them only heat so definitely pack a fan if you are staying during the summer months because it got ridiculously hot during the day. One thing I didnt know before going was that there is absolutely no cell signal/internet, but there is a camp phone you can use if you need to. The camp ground was clean and quiet even when it was crowded over the weekend. The bathrooms/showers were clean, only thing we disliked was everything is push button. You can not controll the water temperature and sometimes it got cold in the shower. The play grounds for the children were also well kept. The lake is a short drive down the road and there is a nice creek you can walk to and explore from any site. We swam and was able to go kayaking at the lake. The park rangers do rounds frequently so if you needed some thing you could ask easily. If there was anything going on activities/information they would go around and let everyone know. The camp host also walked around one day during our stay to let everyone know to prepare for a storm we would be having. Lastly, pack lots of bug spray! The flies are vicious and bite the heck out of you! Pros/Cons: Pros: Clean Quiet Affordable Outdoor activities Cons: No service Push buttons - Showers/Sinks Flies Yurts - no AC

Good experience at this campground. There are showers at no additional cost. Water and electric. Parked next to hosts and they were great. Only complaint would be marginal cell service. I'll come back. Oh forgot the calmness of the river I was adjacent to.

Nice, peaceful, quiet state park. Be aware, the lake is "no wake" meaning trolling motors only. There is no cell service throughout the park but a short drive east to the small town of English center will give you 4G LTE service. The state park has a campground, eagle viewing area with an active nest, an archery range, gun range, and ample and hiking fishing opportunities. Great day trip or weekend destination.

Rented a cabin in the park. Quiet on this side. Don't like hearing the loud ppl or dogs barking on the opposite end. Woman's bathroom clean. Lake was gross to swim, def not what we expected for a child. We like the cabin n fire pit with rack to cook....Horseshoe pit, basketball net, volleyball court and 2 small playgrounds available for use. Storms went around this mountain the last 2 days! Creek is very low, from here north.

This is a gorgeous out of the way PA State campground. Most sites have electric, but only a handful are near water spigots. The trees that were small when my family spent many weekends here in the 60s are now 60+ towering beauties. The park is very clean and lies just below the Waterville Lake spillway. Inexpensive firewood is available on site and a store is nearby for overlooked essentials. I was thrilled to return to a favorite campground and pleased to say it's more beautiful than ever. Worth the drive for sure. Highly recommended!
