My daughter and niece highly recommend this place. Unfortunately, Monday was their resting day. We finally get to get this place on Tuesday. It’s definitely worth the wait.
The restaurant is very small with just a few tables for dine-ins. The entire menu is a giant poster on the wall with a picture for each menu item. This makes ordering a breeze.
The setup of this restaurant is very simple and it’s right behind the counter for customers to see.
A small counter for making the noodle, two large pots to cook the noodles and cooking the dishes. A showcase to store all the garnishment and a small space to prep dishes before serving.
After receiving a beef noodle soup order. Someone brings out a few prepared doughs, roll it a few times to flatten it to the proper thickness, cuts it, handle pull it and then puts it in a pot of boiling water to cook. Simultaneously, another person brings out a container of beef noodle soup stock to heat up. The noodle and the beef soup gets mixed in the bowl with garnishment and it’s ready to be served.
The man in charge at the counter is the owner. An immigrant from ShannXi (陕西) long time ago. Friendly fella.
This restaurant was a unique dining experience. The food here was absolutely delicious. We were able to enjoy the dumplings, their famous noodle dish and their fried rice. The food was served fresh and fast. There was plenty of free parking in the back of the strip mall. I am looking forward to going back again soon.
I ordered #14. I have not had noodles this good for more than a decade. The noodles were freshly made by hand and you can see them being made from scratch in the kitchen. The beef toppings on the noddles melt in my mouth. Oh amazing!
Lili's is a unique Chinese restaurant experience with the famous hand pulled noodles. I enjoyed dumplings and scallion pancakes as well as several other dishes overall, not as spicy as I expected. The service was very friendly, the seating is very Spartan and extremely limited for dine in. For the past 4 years this has been my daughter's most favorite restaurant in Amherst.
Best chinese food in Amherst! Portions are big, so expect leftovers.
Also: Remember to pay at the counter and put your bowls in the dish bin.
A very simple but absolutely authentic food from northwest China. The stewed beef noodle soup is so delicious and the meat is extremely tender. The scallion sprout and pork is a little spicy but very flavorful. Definitely need to come back often.
The stewed pork combo was super rich. Flavorful but not in a "fake" way with chili's or salt. I've never had Chinese food this hearty - I feel full in that "Thanksgiving" sense. The pork tastes high quality
Is $14 a little higher? My opinion doesn't matter haha. What I will say is that for $14 you should expect the food to provide the type of rich experience to deserve it and Lilis food delivers.
Usually Chinese places appeal to my desire for inexpensive but tasty and filling food while traveling - Lilis, I would go to specifically to treat myself, to treat someone else.
That's a categorical difference that makes Lilis special - to me anyway! I'll probably come back when I'm around Amherst in the future.
Authentic homemade Chinese dishes! Every dish is good with large portions. The noodles are hand made right there and it's like being at Mama's house if you're Chinese!

Probably the best Chinese in the area..actually had good flavor when we ate in the restaurant. Szechuan flavor was on point. Dumplings a bit bland. Really nice waiter to our big party
Best Chinese food in Amherst downtown. The authentic Pork Shredded in Beijing Sauce are not found in any other Chinese restaurant! Mapo Tofu is another dish I highly recommend. The spiciness of the Szechuan food here is just as it should be.

Beef with Mung Bean Sprouts is a satisfying blend of taste and texture, with chunks of beef mixed with fresh and crunchy bean sprouts, alongside sauteed green onions; consumed with brown rice, it's an irresistibly healthy and delicious option for Chi
I got a mixed platter which I ate too fast to take a picture so I took a photo of the fried oreos which are amazing! They do get packed on weeknights which is stressful on the employees. I mean packed! But come on a regular day or earlier customer se

This is my favorite park in Massachusetts. Easy to access as it's not far from I-91 and the amherst/Springfield areas. The park itself is huge and has many trails. The White blazed Metacomet-Monadnock trail is the highlight as it traverses the entire
An outstanding tribute to Eric Carle. The bookstore and library have an excellent array of moving/meaningful kids' books. The artistic displays, throughout the museum and in the bookstore, are incredible. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
