When my wife and I walked in the door we were greeted by the sweetest lady. She took our name, we placed our order and were seated quickly. The smothered pork chops were outstanding. My wife had the fried chicken Mac and cheese and greens. The greens were the best greens I’ve ever eaten. We will definitely go back again. The best part of our experience was when we were leaving, that sweet lady, said Pete have a great day. She takes customer service to the next level.

Delicious food, reasonably priced. I came for the gumbo which was great, much thinner than I most places. Candied yams were great. The greens were good but kinda bland, needs some heat or smoke for more dimension of flavor. For me the star of the show was the fried chicken. Just classic fried chicken done well. I hope to get back one day to try some of the other menu items.

Not only delicious but also surprisingly affordable. The smothered pork, fried chicken, Po boys, green beans, dirty rice, and southern greens showcased a perfect blend of spices, creating a memorable experience that won't break the bank. What truly stood out was the excellent customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant visit, demonstrating attentiveness and genuine hospitality. From recommendations to accommodating special requests, their dedication to customer satisfaction was evident throughout. Truly humble people. I highly recommend this spot for those seeking not only mouthwatering Creole dishes but also a warm and welcoming dining atmosphere. It's a gem where affordability meets exceptional taste and service.

Loved this cozy, friendly neighborhood restaurant! From the moment we walked in we received a warm southern NOLA welcome. Ordered and paid at the counter then our food was brought out to us. Everything was spot on and flavorful. Delicious shrimp, grits, fried chicken and po boys!

Me and my boyfriend decided to have our first lunch in NOLA at Lil' Dizzy's. Our experience was pretty good. We found parking pretty easily, which was a nice change of pace after driving for hours on end the previous night looking for parking. When we arrived, the restaurant was PACKED. Granted, it was a very small restaurant so no big deal, but because it was packed we had to sit outside. Unfortunately it was raining pretty badily, so sometimes the wind would carry the rain to us while we were sitting trying to enjoy our food. But the food definitely made up for it. The food was amazing, honestly we had both agreed that it was the best fried chicken we've ever had. We had decided to get the dark meat chicken meal(thigh and leg) and I will not regret it. I decided on mac n cheese for my side and WOW is all i have to say. The added some spice to it and the crust on the mac n cheese made it mouth watering. Just typing this review makes me want to go back! My boyfriend says that he loved the jerseys on the wall the most, because it have off the best NOLA vibes if you're a Saints fan. And even though it was raining, the view was still pretty great!

I thoroughly enjoyed my food! The gumbo and fried chicken were standouts. So flavorful!! So delicious! A Louisiana cultural jewel⚜️. My to-go service after lunchtime was fast and friendly. Street parking is tight, but I found a spot. I am bringing my sister when I return.

I found this place when I was doing research on food in New Orleans and since I lived in 6th Ward (Tremé), this establishment was in walking distance, which was amazing. The food was excellent, and the owner was very courteous and patient even if it was clear that she had too many customers. It was a testament to her service and she handled it like a champ. All kudos right there! My highlights were the following: 1) Gumbo - I could visibly see crab shells in the gumbo which was amazing because that means it was real southern gumbo that I had, along with a whole bunch of andouille included. There was too little rice but that was okay. 2) Mac & Cheese - I could taste the cheese crunch and the saltiness, so it was excellent. 3) Fried Chicken - Outside was crisp and golden brown and flavorful, and inside was hot and well-seasoned. I didn't need any hot sauce to enjoy the chicken. 4) Bread Pudding - There was a generous amount, and each bite was sweet but not sugar-bomb type of sweet. There were a few dishes that were not highlight excellent but still pretty good, such as the candied yams, which became better after I mixed everything a bit as the top was super sweet and bottom wasn't sweet enough. The shrimp po-boy contained a good amount of shrimp which was good but there was barely any lettuce, tomato, and mayo, so having some more would help. Finally, it's hard to make greens in mass, so I would give the southern greens an okay as it was mushy in texture. But it was flavorful so that was a plus! Overall I highly recommend this place to those that live in New Orleans or visit there. They are only open for a few hours a day so I think one should try their best to be there earlier than later, especially on a weekend!!

What a delicious experience, popped in right a close for a go box. Fried chicken with green beans and jambalaya. Added a side of gumbo which was a great addition to the meal. Everything was cooked proper and seasoned just right!
