I flew out from Florida to visit LIGO Hanford and was not disappointed! Went on the "Second Saturday" tour, led by Michael Landry, Ph.D. I enjoyed the hands on demonstrations and the accompanying descriptions and applicability to gravitational waves.
Also, it was very cool to see the Nobel Prize in Physics to Rainer Weiss, Barry Barish and Kip Thorne for their contributions to LIGO.
I highly recommend!
A colleague of mine wanted to go here so we did a short road trip from seattle to here. The staff is super nice. We had an appointment for the observatory tour at 11:45 am and they were on time. They first explained about what they do at the observatory. And they took us to some few important spots in the campus. The person who was taking us on tour, answered all questions. We had a great experience. If you are interested in knowing more about the observatory, then definitely it’s worth the visit!!
An exceptional la with ultra sensitive laser systems to measure interference caused by gravitational waves.
First Saturday of the month great informative free public tours. Get your geek on and come see science in action. The tour guides are actual scientists that know what’s happening. Very informative tours and a fun family outing.
Amazing place to visit for space enthusiasts. You get all the information abut gravitational wave studies and a peekaboo to what's happening all the while in space. It's a working Lab. Still, they organize a 2 hr detailed tour on every 2nd Saturday of the month. Special mention to the staff and scientists working there.
Amber did a great job of making this super interesting even though it was way over my head! Seeing the control room and tubes were cool! I can recommend to most anyone.
This is an amazing place to visit. So much informative and a huge leap towards mankind to discover and move forward and learn about space science. They organise guided tour on every 2nd Saturday within their labs, control rooms and explains how they’ve built equipments to major sound waves that was created 100 billion light years far and their extraordinary technology to achieve this. I bet, you’ll be amazed by what they’ve achieved here.
Fascinating tour, but do bring water and sun protection if going during the hot months, as much of the tour entails walking around outside. Free but requires registration in advance.

I need to share with you what I saw last night at yellow belt testing by Master Roach. It's important. Three minutes late a little girl rushed in on the verge of tears, probably because she was late, but that isn't all, she was a white belt arriving
